• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I've found the update file, but is a one time thing or does it have to be used before each game session?

Can you get the update file on the pc or does it have to be downloaded with the 360?

I have had a 360 since the day it came out but I haven't had it connected to the net, so I can't help you unfortunially.

You can get the update file at the Xbox website.

This is the Australian version of that site, you do this download and burn it to a disk. Then you should be able to just pop it in, run the update and then you can play. I don't know if it's that easy.

My brother, who is less that tech literate and complains if tuna doesn't cook itself, said that you had to run the patch before every session. I.E. run the update, put in Halo, and play... then take halo out, run the update again, put in Halo 2, and play. But I think he was doing something wrong. I do know, from what I found on their site, that you cannot make gamesaves of original Xbox games on the Xbox 360.

It's no trouble, just let me know how it goes. Yours can't be much different from the ones here.

I finally got around to trying it out yesterday and it worked. I played Halo 2 on the 360.

I only had to apply the patch once.

Thanks, I'll keep it in mind if anyone else asks, though it became a moot point for me when my niece, she was who wanted to know in the first place, found out you couldn't save a game. Kinda defeats the purpose, don't it?

Again, thanks anyways.

I am playing Halo 2 on the 360 and it is saving my games. I am playing through the campaign.
