The main character, the total perfect good guy. Or sure you might save some damsel in distress... or maybe the lonely hot prince, and you can be sort of a good-to-shoes at times so don't over do the nice person act. It'll either get you heartbroken or totally stabbed in the back.... literally. Careful how nice you are to people.... and don't make friends with a random guy at a bar; not cool.

Muhaha the villan! What luck! You love to watch people suffer.... one way or another you find it fun to watch peoples' plans be ruined by your wickedness... you have many people that follow you around and admire you for your evil nature. Yet deep down inside, you may not be all wicked. At one point something might have changed you to the wrong side - a lost love - maybe the influence of others - or you could really just have been born bad. Either way the villan is a cunning character full of spite and evil laughs (just practice it, once aloud, MUHHHAAAAAHHAAAA, doesn't it feel marvelous?)

and Cassio, Othello's lieutenant and trusted friend [ the Villan ]

But then there is

Batman and Harvey Dent,"Two Face" District Attorney of Gotham City and an ally friend of Batman

Isn't it true in most comic books that the Arch villian of the hero was at one point a best friend or family member?

Old wise wizard/ witch

This is usually described as the kind old wizard you meet during a random thunderstorm, or maybe the sweet old lady you find out is a witch, but not in personality. You have a lot of good wisdom, and usually not so heroic and you don't get the hot guy or girl. But rather you are admired and looked upon by the hero for guidance and strength, usually if you work hard and you keep to your wise decisions, it might just reward you some day.
