With the upcoming forth book of the USS Titan series coming out soon, I was placing my pre-order on amazon, when I noticed that they had a pic of the cover on display. The cover clearly shows the USS Titan (for the first time), the only images we have had before , were from the competion entries (so obviously not offical - of sorts)dating back to the first book.

This is the closest to cannon(ish) (I think) we have ever been, with regards to an image of this ship.

NB - note the cover of the book also states that there will diagrams inside the book of the USS Titan

The image of the Titan has been floating around the net since the first book of the Titan series started.

Here are some of those images, those they to my knowledge have never been on the book cover before.

As far as canon I already believe the design has been approved as such, according to my memory where I recall reading that it was.

Yes the design that is shown on the cover is the Winner of the contest and I guess is going to be considered Canon for all intents and purposes. I have to say I do like the design of the ship. Really goes with the new streamlined starfleet.

Well, in that case. I really do like the design. Wonder what it looks like at ramming speed? LOL

As long as they never put Worf in command or Deanna at the helm I don't think we'll ever have to see that. :Y

Remember, Riker did give the command many times. It was just stopped b/c of change in situation or the other ship moved. Also, Deanna is on the ship. So, you never know.

indeed... the images and the book cover have been floating around for a while...

I even know of a now stopped sim that used the Luna class for it's adventures...

As in past tense already done and dusted.

Personally i was always rather disappointed with the pic.... looks like a step in the wrong direction to me, towards less fluid lines and the overblown purity effect....

As I said, I knew there were pics around from the competition going back a few years, but this pic is the first pic on a actual book, so the first that can be considered a "true" image of the ship, its also the subtle differences to the design that make it quite interesting.

Nice ship but i dont like the nacells look ( The buster collectors just look to long ) . Any bets on how long until deanna takes the helm  ?, i wouldnt trust her with a shuttle never mind a starship

Anyways its a nice ship and is cannon, but is that a secondery bridge on the pod or something else ( Looks like somethings ontop of it )

I agree, to be it looks like it should of been built with the Akira class. When using the Luna class or USS Titan in fan fictions and RPG's, I always use a different design due to not liking or feeling that the canon Luna is any good or meets up to the requirements.

Whilst (at the time) I believed that there was no need for a new ship (they could have used an Akira or Galaxy Class), I do like the new design. It seems to fit in quite well with the science role that it was constructed for.

Remind me what that role was... It was cannon fodder, right!

I don't like the design one bit. I myself was working on my own entry at the time, but life and real world job got in the way. The contest was over before I could finish my entry. I could blame myself... but blaming other things does give a little more satisfaction and contentment.:lol2:

I'm not a fan of the design, to me it looks like it would fix more in the 2350's rather than the 2380's.

I also thought the Titan would be a Galaxy or Intrepid class. But I prefer the Titan class that Syf is making for the Midway fan fiction, suits it down to the ground I think. I just don't like the design that was chosen.
