• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

It's scary how many people get their news from Facebook's Trending section.

Here's a nice trailer showing the differences in Bioshock 1 and Bioshock 1 Remastered. There are also some shots of 2 and Infinite at the end. The pictures I saw before had a lot of JPG compression and were only 720p so it was difficult to spot the differences.

It looks like the water is even prettier, some shaders have been upgraded, a bunch of smaller details have been added (there are now jellyfish on the first bathysphere ride, for instance), textures are higher resolution, and the FOV has been widened. The original game's widescreen support was actually V- so I think they simply fixed it to be H+ like a modern game.

Ohhhh, pretty. It looks awesome. It should be free to those of us who already have it though or greatly reduced in price.

If you have Bioshock 1 or 2 on Steam by the sixteenth, then you will be granted the remastered version of said game for free. Infinite's remaster is just the equivalent of bumping the PC version up to higher settings so it's not getting a PC remaster, though, just console.

Well, I found a 160 gb hard drive in my garage yesterday. I decided I would install it to give me a little extra storage space. Powered down my pc, hooked up the hd, then turned it back on. the OS got really sluggish and unresponsive. The added hd wasn't being read either. I shut the machine down and removed the hd. When I turned the pc back on, windows had to do a repair scan. When Windows finally came on, I had to reset the start menu. All the apps were gone. Also, when I click the windows icon at the bottom, the menu came up differently. Other than that, everything seemed fine. I went to get on before bed and there was nothing on my screen. I rebooted my machine and still nothing. So, I grabbed my Win7 install disk to reformat my hard drive and start from scratch. Windows wouldn't install. I got the message that the drivers needed to read the hard drive was missing. I removed the Win7 disk and put in the drivers disk that came with my mother board and when I turned on my machine, Win10 started up. Thought I had lost everything.

Moral of the story: be careful what you put in your machine.

You might be able to salvage that 160GB drive anyway. Ubuntu Linux has live DVDs so you can burn the install disk image to a disk and then boot to a usable desktop right from that instead of needing to do a complete install. Any Windows virus or worm will be unable to function in a Linux environment, so you can just reformat or erase the drive from there.

I have already thrown the 160 away and it is now gone. After I threw it away, I had the thought to try something similar with my Win7 install disk. Definitely too late now as the trash went out this morning. No big loss though.

Yeah, they went with the free-on-Steam thing because it's easy to verify ownership that way. I'm guessing the remasters probably be in the Christmas Sale, though. Since they're technically horror, and the Bioshock games were discounted during the last one, you should check the Halloween Sale, too.

Is this the Building Instructions service through Lego or a third party? Brickinstructions.com is another good one.

 .

Although I am in a good news/bad nes scenario: Good news is that I found a way for me to properly make Wireframes (they will warn you of system damages). Bad news is that I may be getting a job... while that is good news indeed that means my free time will diminish a huge lot.

As there didn't seem to be much fuss made about the 50th, I thought I'd post this find.
I didn't even realize it was the 50th. Happy 50th, everybody!

Also, if you see an ad on that video saying that Jackie Chan died, don't worry, it's a hoax from a few years ago that gets rejuvenated every year or so.

If you don't have Bioshock 1, 2, or Infinite, now's the time to get them. There's a build-your-own Humble Bundle featuring all three right now. Remember, if you have them by Friday, you get the HD versions for free. I strongly recommend all three games. I'm pretty sure that @Terra_Inc and @Rifraf would be interested in this. Hint, hint.
