• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I've basically ceased all A1/A2/FO3 modding since the engine is so frustrating. FO4 has enough features that I can implement some stuff I've been wanting to do without a billion ODFs, but I'm considering doing some projects as Homeworld 2 or SoaSE mods, assuming I can find some good modding guides and motivation, simply because the engines seem more flexible.

Unfortunately, the ODFs are the least interesting part of modding. I can spend months hashing out a concept and figuring out how to do it with the engine, but it can be difficult to get myself to sit down and spend what could be weeks or months coding the freaking thing. I'd probably have more fun if I could create new functions instead of just changing variables.

I just started fiddling with the DSR (supersampling/downscaling) settings on my GPU. Bioshock looks really pretty at 3840x2400, even if it is getting shrunk down to 1920x1200. And it looks like most of my games that were also released on consoles are easy enough on my GPU to use the feature! Still won't work well with some things, though. Stupid exact pixel count UIs.

I've seen that somewhere else before. I thought it was like an initial concept for either Phase II or Wrath of Khan or Planet of Titans or something.

Don't worry @Hellkite I will have the S.A.R. team ready to go. A word of warning though, after your extraction, I may have to stick around for a couple to days to scout out the area for any possible future endeavors.

I have Internet in the BOONIES well sort of well interment internet I have put my phone in just the right spot and right angle but I have limted network out here WOOT! well until my phone dies

SciFiFan have that S.A.R team ready you may want a secondary team on standby :rolleyes: that or a clean up team I'm all ready piloting redrum here and it is the first day :plan:

Good! I may have gotten lost a bit in the jungles of academia, but I have successfully emerged with the rare highly sought after, "bachelor's degree." :p I go back pretty soon actually, to hunt for the even more prized, "master's". :)

The actual degree I got is the same for people going into 3D modeling, game design, animation, sound design, etc. For me, my focus has been on fabrication actually. Using my modeling and design skills to make real world objects with 3D printers, laser cutters, etc. I'll make a thread about the awesome stuff I have gotten to do pretty soon. :) How about you?

That's pretty durn awesome!

As for me, an MA in History is the goal, hoping to do 19th century American History.

With luck, it'll lay the groundwork to help me pursue an eventual doctorate studying the role of the Cherokee in the American Civil War.
