• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I would like to know if anyone here could give me a site where I could get a tga viewer. Free, if possible, but any help would be great!

Spelling/grammar edited.
Please use proper spelling/grammar in future posts- Intrepid

Invalid link removed - Syf.

On A2files a tga -> bmp converter is Link removed.

Do you just want to view the tgas or edit the files, too?

Also, there is GIMP. It's a free image program that you can view, edit, and create an array of different image format types. Here's the link...

Well, then you have come to the right place. Gimp or the TGA converter should work.

If you are running windows XP than you can also right click on the file and select the open with link and chose a program and select look for a program on the web option. this will give you a list of programs that will open the files.

The pest choice is IrfanView
http://www.irfanview.com/

It will show you tgas with alpha channel or without alpha channel
btw, it can open nearly everything

I used to find that I could open TGAs with Internet explorer (just for viewing mind) I dunno why that worked, so you could try that. (I just tried now and it just opened in Paintshoppro although if you don't have any other tga viewing programs it might work. Still, the converter is a sensible thing for you to get either way.
