Very cool man the phase II. I made one physical model in styrene mixing both 22" TOS and TMP version model kits. some parts like the nacelles sides were scratched. The only distinguable difference with your A2 model is that I take the original TOS Hobbs 41 deflector array (see Bonhomme Richard sub-class) instead of the blue colored Vernier navigational deflector from TMP.

This is my ship :) :

oh, i have seen those pics of your model in my search for refference pics of the Phase2 and i think its a good interpretation of the crude original but never finished series proposal model.

i think my version is a pre TMP refit to more Endeavour class like standards but this would be a mix of canon and non canon. :lol2:

I'm very glad to know my physical model was among your data references, Terradyhne! :) I didn't think one day it'd be so!

Beautiful! Really did her justice.
My only gripe would be the blue hull markings on the saucer, they're a tad too subtle. Everything else is awesome, thumbs up!

it was one of those better physical models i used as reference, the most 3d and CGI models didn't interprete, what i thought it would look like. :)

the Akula Prototype is ingame now

i would have uploaded the Phase2 and the Akula but there era problems at A2-files, here i can't upload right now and at my site there is simply not enough space left for them to be placed for a download. :(

i found out what the performance lag in my A2 install is, its not depending to the engine itself, its a graphicscard driver problem as i use some older one and the support info says its not recommended for that game.
but i have to use it as i have a Widescreen Monitor and don't want to have a stretched image ingame and those newer versions of the NVIDIA drivers don't have anymore the option to change flat panel scaling.
even changeing my modding to Fleetops is not an option for me, as the files and their structure are verry chaotic.

The FleetOps ODF file structure can be a bit unintuitive at first, but it'll make more sense as you learn how the system works :). I (and I'm sure others) can help you along if you wish

Not true my friend! I actually wrote part of the guide specifically for explaining the file structure to those who are new to it. Other than that, you should be able to add your odf's, ship files and textures into the game and they sould work without a problem.

As Dom said, there are plenty here who are willing to help including myself.

As to your models man, I like your nacelles a lot. Very unique. I hope to see more in the future!

what i will say is that A2 itself has a better system, with having the odfs sorted in their folders, ship-odfs in the ship folder and so on. this system is easier for me to maintain and i don't have to look through "thousands" of odf-files to find the one i want to edit.

The problem of course with multiple folders is that if you're looking for weapons that link to various items as happens very frequently in FO, or ships that consist of many disparate ODFs, it's harder to quickly run a search for them with multiple folders  . As long as you name your ODFs logically, shouldn't be very hard (in my opinion of course) to find the necessary ones :)

Nice work Terra

Dom I can't agree with the though that the FO odf setup is faster because once you know where stuff is in stock you can find stuff and get around alot faster. Having everything piled up in one place is very intimidating and just feels very disorganised even if it is not:)

You can upload here by sending your files to:

Code:
files@msfc.com.au

We don't allow uploading by members as the system we use is too restrictive and only allows at maximum of only a few megabytes, so we use a FTP method instead. Terra_Inc and I upload 99% of files to the site for our members who like hosting with us.

but i have to use it as i have a Widescreen Monitor and don't want to have a stretched image ingame and those newer versions of the NVIDIA drivers don't have anymore the option to change flat panel scaling.

I also use a widescreen and if you use the max resolution it doesn't stretch the image. Lord_Trekie told me about that trick.

even changeing my modding to Fleetops is not an option for me, as the files and their structure are verry chaotic.

Both FO and A2 have then benefits, I too found it very hard to adjust but I have figured it out and have reorganised the layout of the individual odf files so I can quickly edit them. They are more like the stock A2 ones now.

This command line will allow you to access the regular screen sizes available in A2, Terradhyne. I had the same problem awhile back when I switched to a 1920 x 1080 HD flatscreen. I rather like 1280 x 1024 res for the game as it only takes up half the screen. So I can adjust things on the fly when I am making maps. Here is the complete line from the Properties window for the A2 executable file:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Guinea Pig\Armada2.exe" -win

I still haven't figured out how to get it to go to 1600 x 1200 px resolution yet.

the Monitor is set to 1920x1080 HD max resolution and the game is to set to the highest resolution and the image is still stretched as i think stock A2 doesn't support widescreen resolutions

this commandline is for win7 as i see with the "Program Files (x86)" folder in there, try to use this with winXP

Yeah, I have to agree with you there. It was, in my opinion, easier to put things i the right places when they were in their folders.

However, as far as I was aware, the devs did this only because having them all in one folder significantly reduced load time. Otherwise, I think it was better the other way.

Hello:
They look like very nice models, they do have a different feel, but it is a good one.

Keep it up!

Look very great for the texture rendering even if it's a blue Vernier type deflector array on the Enterprise. :)

Hi, after i got my "new" PC back (with now working RAM), i got around and freed some space at my Site account and will upload these Phase2 ships to my site in the next days

and here are some pics of my newest work

its the SFB Omega Sector Koligahr Heavy Cruiser.
the Koligahr are a race of aquatic invertebrates resembling giant oceangoing jellyfish with multiple manipulative tendrils.
their ships consist of giant bubble-like spheres constructed underwater and catapulted into space, where they are connected together to form ships.
the Koligahr are masters of antimatter technology, employing it in their antimatter cannon heavy weapon and antimatter cloud generator defenses.

the textures aren't the best but the best i could make :lol2:
