Christian Bale plays John Connor not only in the upcoming fourth Terminator movie Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins due for release on May 22 2009 but also in a fifth and sixth film as well:
BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Bale 'to make three Terminators'

The fourth film is directed by McG.

Charlotte Gainsbourg has been cast as John's wife Kate playing the character first played by Claire Danes in the previous film Rise of the Machines:
Movies - News - Gainsbourg cast in 'Terminator' - Digital Spy

Gainsbourg (21 Grams, I'm Not There) joins a cast that includes Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright, Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese, Moon Bloodgood as Blair Williams, Common as Barnes and Jadagrace as Star.

so long as he's not giving up being the Bat for them... he's iconic as Batman now, it'd be like someone other than Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine, or Blade being someone other than Wesley Snipes (they tried that in the TV show, it sucked. pardon the pun :lol:)

Found out that Anton Yelchin plays Kyle Reese.

As well as Kyle Reese, Yelchin will also be seen during 2009 in the upcoming Star Trek movie as Chekov.

Ben McEachen in the Sydney Sunday Telegraph has given Terminator Salvation, three stars.

With the headline "One cyborg short of a triumph", Ben McEachen says that the film "offers a big-budget visual and aural assault of the highest order that will leave you gobsmacked and shell-shocked - but not moved."

He concludes his review by saying the "attention placed on the nuts and bolts in this explosive sequel means it slightly overlooks the vital pulse that audiences expected."

To Australian viewers:
David Stratton and Margaret Pomerantz in At The Movies were both impressed with Sam Worthington's performance as Marcus Wright in Salvation with David saying he was the only interesting character and that John Connor was one-dimensional.

Both David and Margaret each gave the film 2 and a half stars with David describing it as a visual mess.

Salvation:
Overall it is not perfect, it is not the best of the Terminator movies but it is still an enjoyable film.
After being completely absent in the previous film, Linda Hamilton makes a return as Sarah Connor but only with her voice in a cassette recording. Good that her presence was felt here.
Even Arnold managed to be here. The California Governor however was not personally involved in the filming as an image of him from the first movie was used. Brilliantly done.
Very well done scenes include Marcus, Kyle and Star being chased by Terminators and when John Connor was in the Skynet base.
It was also good to hear the song You Could Be Mine by Guns N Roses previously heard in T2. I had completely forgotten about that song and it was so good to hear it again after a very long time.
