Syf's 3D Modeling - Star Trek Online

Hello to all you 3D fans.

The other day I got in the mail my usual GAMEINFORMER monthly publication magazine. Well, I was shocked... It had a cover like never before.... It had a Star Trek cover! More specifically, it was an exclusive article about Star Trek: Online.

Well, I read the article, and with such great pics of some of the ships in the game, I got to thinking, it would be cool to have those models before the game even is released.

That's where this thread comes in. After thinking about it for a couple days, I decided it has been a long time since I really did any modeling work, just for fun. Well, who am I to look away from such an idea.

So, I am off to a good start in making a few models based on STO models, and may be nice and host them on here. It's up in the air at the moment.

But I will use this thread to "show off" a bit.

First up, a couple Borg ships based on STO models.

In the pic, the 2 borg ships are a bit different. The one in the foreground is a "Carrier", but the other one is not.

Coming up next - Federation Fleet. So stay tuned!

Oooo cool Idea Syf. Are you going to just do ones seen in the game environment? or some of the sketched ones too?

I'm currently working on "ingame" ones... But I do plan to make the sketched ones too, as they are pretty cool in my oppinion.

Well I'm about ready to texture the 3rd ship in my STO inspired models. Here is a look at the ship.

Ooooo! Looks good Syf, not fond of their Sov hybrid thing but still, it looks good.

Indeed. I didn't even realize at first it was a Sov refit. But still, it's in the collection so I made one like it.

Not a fan of the fins or rollbar but the rest is awesome.
