well judging by atlantis how atlantsi was released it would probably be late october, (US has a 2 week break i think)

so it would work out that we would end up seeing them simultaneously after the mid-season break.

but ye, i just saw the trailer, and that looks awesome, it has actually put aside my fears regarding the series. And i am almost falling off my seat with excitement.

and Amateur... I already have my HD box :)

When you see Icarus base under attck, you see these ships that look a little like deathgliders firing what looks like death glider weapons, possibly a MKII?

I meant that...

In the trailer they go from some other base. Now this could perhaps be a codename for Arlantis or some hidden base on another planet, but it just seems a bit odd to me that they don't take the 'main gate' from Cheyenne mountain.

Maybe it simply can't go there?

I can't remember much of recent Stargate episodes, but I'm fairly sure nothing happened to it...

they beamed the guy straight to the ship, its possible that they use that as a base? After all the attempts to destroy the gate putting it on a ship would solve the explosion problem!

or like u say there was no way to gate to icarus base, possibly due to the funky looking gate we see there, there is definatly a 3rd type of gate we see, maybe they find an abandoned ancient outpost with the gate set similarly atlantis when the they found it - no one can dial in.

there were some brilliant lines in the trailer that let me know this hasnt lost anything, even if it has gained a darker edge.

Rhona Mitra has been cast in a three episode arc at the end of the season. Playing the character of Kiv she will appear in Subversion and the two part finale Incursion:
GateWorld Rhona Mitra cast in recurring SGU role

Among her previous roles was in a regular role in early episodes of Boston Legal which coincidentally starred original Daniel Jackson actor James Spader.

Does anyone know when SGU will start showing new episodes again? As far as I know they have only shown 5 episodes here in the states and can not find anything on when the next one will be......

Ok, I have seen those 10. I must have forgotten some since they showed some back to back. Aptil 10th will be a continuation of season 1 or a whole new season? I don't like this 4 to 5 month break.....plus with it being in april that means it will be over a year before I see it....More coming later on why that is....

Ah that's a real shame. Was getting into it finally after sticking with it through the boring episodes

I have always been kinda "meh" when it comes to SG-U - I thought it was kinda boring - not to say I don't like stargate at all - I loved SG-1 it was (and still is) one of my favorite sci-fi shows - but SG-U never really got me hooked the way SG-1 or SG-A did... Actually, SG-A was kinda "meh" for me too...

I guess I'm just strange - I didn't really get Andromeda either... But I loved Firefly... I didn't really like TNG, but loved DS9... I guess I'm just kinda picky...

It is a real shame that it is canceled though - networks just don't get sci-fi...

I kind of expected this to happen. Sad to see a (still somewhat) new show being canceled. :(

Yeah it was pretty boring, too much of a soap opera.

I am disappointed. There just is not any real Sci-Fi on anymore. The show was getting much better and I will be watching the final episodes. Everything now days with the "drama" or "reality" or whatever else they think we want is just BS. I WANT MY SCI-FI!!!!

+1 to this, sums it up really. I don't care about how the X Factor has produced another clone destroying a good song (curse you Cardle - I like Biffy Clyro!) to make more money for Simon Cowell, or how wannabee celebrities eat bugs for some twisted sadistic audience's amusement and their greedy pockets. I want a decent serialised sci-fi program.

I'm glad my TV licence goes to the BBC over all others, as the only thing good on tele' at the moment (in my opinion) is what the BBC are producing. QI, Doctor Who, Merlin, Mock the Week - good shows that last for brief, fleeting moments. Not that they're some sort of beacon of hope, even they've got in the act with Strictly Has-Been Spotting or whatever the show's called.

Rant mode off

You see, I'm stuck with a dilemma now. On the one hand, I was really getting into the series and thought it much improved over the first one which I had to practically force myself to watch and want to see the season; but I don't want to reach a finale with no conclusion.

Had that problem with The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Does anyone know if they're planning to tie it up? I heard that it was cancelled after filming so I don't think there's a straight ending.

I lost all faith in 'SyFy' a long time ago, they consider professional wrestling one of the most important shows they have on their schedule, so it seems they've completely forgotten what their programming is supposed to be about. The fact that the cast and crew of SGU found out that the show was canceled via Twitter before the network told them says it all really.

[/rant]

I'm in the same boat as you Amateur, I want to watch the finale but I know I'm gonna be annoyed without a proper conclusion (Joe Mallozzi has confirmed series 2 ends on a cliffhanger).

They're looking into a lot of ways to keep keep telling the story, so fingers crossed we will find out how it was all supposed to end.

I lost faith in SyFy as soon as they were no longer the Science-Fiction channel.

I was disappointed that the show was canceled, because beneath the boring space opera, and lame-ness was a cool concept and pretty decent graphics.

At least we have a movie with O'Neill in it to look forward to.

Yeah the graphics were at times awesome, but it becomes irrelevant if you don't like any of the characters or the story. When I look back on all of the great science fiction series that I enjoyed, it ultimately comes down to those two things.

That is sad to hear that StarGate Universe is being canceled. I didn't really get to watch much of it yet at all. And from the episodes I saw, I'd say that it had some many good aspects to it.

I really liked StarGate Atlantis, but I thought that was only canceled to make room for StarGate Universe. Now this is more of a reason to look forward to the StarGate Atlantis movie.

Atlantis was cool, but the Destiny is a very cool Ancient designed ship and it would be great if we could see some more of the ship in another StarGate series, I have a feeling though it might never be seen again unless knowing the show is going to be canceled might the ship make its way into the Atlantis movie? (Like hypothetically, the returns to the Pegasus Galaxy? - Ok, I know we're not sure where exactly the ship was launched from (did an episode tell this that I might have missed?) but for it to arrive in the Pegasus Galaxy, possibly to be detected by Atlantis, might just give the Atlantis Team an advantage over the Wraith with not just the Asgard Weapons and Shields that they have on the Daedalus, the Apollo, The Odyssey, and the General Hammond. Well who knows, it’s just an idea that I just came up with after just learning that another one of my favorite shows that I just started getting into is about to be canceled. :cry2::cry::(

Well, when SG-1 finished, they wrapped up the Ori storyline in a movie. Looks like we are getting an Atlantis movie, so maybe one day, we'll get a Universe movie too:)

That would be cool if they did.
Plus maybe both Atlantis and Universe can get two movies, there was two movies set after SG-1, plus didn't a StarGate movie start the franchise?
