• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Richard Dean Anderson gets the "Special Appearance" By credit. Obviously rectifying the mistake of crediting him under the Guest Starring label for the first two parts of Air.
Slightly ok conclusion to Air.
Interesting flashback about Scott and his backstory.
Quite a smoothing music at the end of the episode.

I on the other hand was unimpressed with the third part, I found the flashback sequence with Scott to be sadly predictable, and the music at the ending reminded me of something from Firefly, not Stargate. It was a decent episode, but it again didn't really have that Stargate feel for me, save for Richard Dean Anderson...

am I the only one thats spotted the massive hole in the whole plot?, didn't we establish that on SG:A "Enemy at the Gates", that Atlantis has a wormhole drive and was able to "hop" galaxies in no time at all, so they are not really that stranded are they, and iam sure that with McKay & Carter on the case they could easily equip the Hammond with the drive, but who needs continuity......

Even if the Hammond could be equipped with the same drive that Atlantis uses, the Destiny is auto piloted and they have no idea where the ship will drop into normal space next.

Well, I thought they have done a decent job to explain that the Destiny was pre-atlantis. Atleast as far as being in a different galaxy. It was the means they used before "instant jumping" between galaxies. Would explain why it was abandoned by them.

Ok then, why not use the stones to swap or Carter or McKay onto the ship, use the virtual "map" seen in "Air" pt1, to extrapolate an aproximate galaxy to jump to, then equip the Hammond with a stargate, so all they have to do to see if its the right galaxy (once there) is dial the Destiny (as dialing within a galaxy takes up less power, something a mkII naquada generator could handle on the hammond, thats why they needed all the power to dial the destiny in the first place, because it was so many galaxies away), once the ship is found, send through a package with an Asgard subspace becon (seen in SG:1 "Unending", so the ship can be tracked, or just have Carter & McKay keep body swapping with people until they sort out the destiny and unlock the systems and just turn the ship around and aim for a agreed location with the Hammond.

Please don't get me wrong, its great to have Stargate back on TV, it just seems like whole issue of "help we are lost..." is a little "flat", and the solution seems so simple.

I like to give new shows a full season to see where it will go. I intend to do the same here. Lets see what happens and then pass judgment.

is the camera movement. It is the same thing they did in Battlestar Galactica. It was ok on that show because of the astion sequences. This show is nothing like Battlestar so the movement is unnecessary (and a little annoying).

But then there would be no show....LOL
That would explain how General O'Neil is bankrolling the stargate program, he sets these things up, just to record them for our viewing pleasure, when he knows how to get them home.........
