On May 4th, The Bad Batch premiered on Disney+. It takes place between the events of The Clone Wars (starting with Order 66) and Rebels. I watched the first episode and was not disappointed.

I was pretty happy with the premiere.

However, I'm not sure if it was just me, but Crosshair being the one to succumb to the control chip and be the bad guy felt a bit cliche. He felt like the most obvious choice for a Bad Batch member to turn into a villain.

I enjoyed it a lot more than the Clone Wars. Seeing a well know Jedi in it early on was a nice addition too.

Lifting weights all the time? Yep, Wrecker is definitely my spirit animal!

So far the series is focused mainly on Omega, which is a little disappointing to be honest. I know the Bad Batch was introduced in Season 7 of the Clone Wars series, but the only member who has had any decent backstory shown is Echo, and that was in Clone Wars. I'd like to know more about Hunter, Tech, and Wrecker, and while I get that it's only the (sixth?) episode, more time could be spent on exploring these other characters.

Sorry about the broken spoiler tag, guys. Turns out putting the wrong closing quote does a lot of damage...

^ That's a bit true, if I'm not mistaken Omega seems to be the next "Ahsoka" type character for the group so there's a lot of focus on her point of view.

So is Moochi actually the Rancor in ROTJ? Cause that was Jabba's right hand man in the end.

{Return of the Jedi novel and Chuck Wendig's 2016 novel Aftermath: Life Debt.}

A rancor named Pateesa was kept as a pet by Jabba the Hutt in a pit below his palace court, to which he fed any who displeased him. The beast was killed by Luke Skywalker, after which its human handler, Malakili, mourned its death

I think that novel has pretty much been invalidated/retconned now with the latest episode.. pretty much what we see on screen is canon. So yeah the Rancor's name would be Moochi (sp??)

you could hear him sort of say 'a good soldier follows orders'
Yeah, I'm just hoping they get it fixed before he becomes a second Crosshair. On the other hand, all of them gradually succumbing to the inhibitor chips until it's just Omega and Hunter could be an interesting (if sad) story.
