• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I just did a search for Homeworld and found nothing pertaining to Star Trek: Continuum, the Homeworld 2 mod over at Moddb.
If you are looking for an Armada like game with new units, and different graphics, check this out. Alpha is already released out and Beta maybe by christmas. Even if you don't want to play the game just check out the videos, very cool.

I've been watching that project and it looks pretty good. I've been thinking about getting it, but I'm having trouble getting Wine to recognize the tags that you can put on the end of shortcuts that modify the command, like -window or -nocd (would you believe that actually works with one game I've got?) Homeworld 2 uses them to use mods.

Hello! One of the Continuum devs here, is this thread too old for me to be helpful here? :)

@CABAL , you might find this list of valid command line parameters useful in getting HW2 working to your satisfaction ;)

http://hw2wiki.net/wiki.hw2.info/CommandLineParameters.html

I typically have -windowed as well as the -h and -w parameters as well as -luatrace and a separate datapath for the mod (although, with the installer you shouldn't need a separate data path)

@mastertwitchy you might be interested in hearing that the Remastered HW and HW2 are expected out late this year and that I'm hoping to port Continuum over to it too :)

It's not that I don't now how to use the parameters or what they are, it's that they didn't work with H2 in Wine. Wine is a compatibility layer to make Windows programs run on Linux. I'm using a newer version so it might work now, though. If not, I can always run it under Windows.

Just an update on the mod here, I've just recruited some more help with adding ships in! I'm hoping to be able to make a respectable release before Homeworld 2 Remastered hits the interwebs :)
