...these are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise...its five year mission..to explore strange new worlds...to seek out new life and new civilations..
...to boldly go..where no man has gone..before...
I present my first ever 'released' mod..entering final stages... it is a complete revamp of the LS Constitution and related ships from the TOS era... The model was originally made by Lord Schtupp years ago for the SFC series of games. It has been ported over and retextured time and again. But never with this much attention to detail. All textures for all the TOS ships will come with LOD textures as well as new additions to the models themselves. This pack will feature the Constitution Class only...and related ships will be released as I get them done. Two ships will be sent off to start with..the first featuring naturally the USS Enterprise 1701 (no bloody A,B,C, or D, or even E) LOLOL and one of her sister ships, the USS Lexington. The Enterprise will be the only ship to feature the main textures at 1024x1024 because shes the Enterprise of course. All other Connies and smaller ships will have a max of 512x512. Of course each texture will have two smaller resolutions to keep processing power down to a minimal. The Constitution Class features additions borrowed from WZ's awesome Constitution model..and these are what sort of drive the poly count up to around 10K on the Connie model. Permissions from WZ have already been secured long ago..and of course LS is credited with the original models themselves..sooo all credits are covered...
And now without further adieu...i present some images for your enjoyment...to go, boldly..into the final frontier...
For those of you concerned about poly count. Don't be..with the LODs done on the textures I had 12 Connies on screen at once firing weapons at 12 Klingon D7 Battlecruisers..needless to say I think we all know who came out on top in that fight. But regardless..all 12 connies at once firing phasers and torpedos and Klingons firing disruptors and torpedoes and the frame rate never dropped below 28 fps... I also have, by todays standards, an ancient computer. single core Intel Pentium4 processor at 3.02 Ghz 2Gigs of ram and a 512 mb video card. Like i said. Computers are so much more powerful than what im using and yet with LODs done to not only ship textures..but weapon textures as well...it really saves on computer power and keeps lag down tremendously.
