• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Some more Renders.

Looking great, though the last two are the same pic. What program may I ask you using?

Great looking ships and renders.

The renders were done in Lightwave 9, And the last two aren't the same. ;) The preview render gave me the impression that the saucer of the Excelsior wasn't appearing so I moved it a little and did the second one. :) One of these days though I'll actually learn how to model in Lightwave instead of just doing renders. :D

They look good Matt, though a suggestion of mine, would be to add a Starfield background to them, and maybe work on the positioning of ships with the scaling? - I know it is hard to work with sometimes, but on your renders, some ships look out of scale.

Yeah, the scaling was the one thing I knew I was going to have problems with, but at the time I was too tired to go look up length's etc, especially for ships that are nothing but fanon. Since they're .PNG though I can go stick any (almost any) ol' space background on there and call it good... Probably do that in a few days...

Thank you, I'll try. :D There was supposed to be a third, smaller, drydock housing an Excelsior but there was a huge problem with the lighting, one I didn't feel like dealing with at 4 AM so I just left it with these two.

I may try again sometime soon with more docks since I may be getting 'command' of a Fleet Yard within one of the RPG groups I'm in.

I get that problem myself from time to time and in the end I make a separate lighting rig for just the one model to make it look right. But thats the effort you have to put in to get the look you want sometime. :)

Creed will vaguely recognise this, but it's a render I did for our front page, cropped slightly so as not to show off the useless stuff at the bottom. :D

Legacy by GKD, The rest of the models were from Lightwave Group 3's authors. Background, I dunno, but if someone does (I got this in a wallpaper pack) please tell me. :)

Well, I wonder what happened to this?

Note I also did some light enhancements.

This isn't the rest of the Hera Class, but this is a reworking of the Antares Fleet yards piece I did a while back...

lol, cool, I've got a 61" plasma that I could use as a monitor, but I'd need a new video card and an HDMI adapter for it... Which since this PC is so old means building a new one...

Plasma's are known to burn the image into their screen so it's best to not have PC's or console games or even those morning shows with those little clocks in the bottom corner on the screen. For that LCD's are better and while more expensive they also give a better image.

But a 61" screen, thats what I call heaven. :lol2:

But yeah thats off-topic a bit, so when do we get to see the Hera, I am curious to see what sort of ship it is but guessing I'd say it's a Nova class replacement or something?
