Um, not to get off topic, but has anyone seen Space battleship Yamato 2199?
I haven't, but since a bunch of my shows are ending for the season I need to watch so I'll give it a try.

Hello:
I have only heard good things about Space Battleship Yamato 2199, mostly because it stays faithful to the original but it also updated based on all new knowledge and stuff over the years.

Well, here is one request though not completely. I did a low res (1200 poly) Archer so that it may be built en mass. The thing is though, I do not have photoshop on my new rig yet (I wasn't good a textures anyways) and I do not have Armada either to test anything. I will be more than happy to provide my Archer.m3d file to anyone who wishes to complete her and get her in game. Let me know here or PM me with an email address to send it to.

The ships look interesting, but at the moment I have other models to work on.

I'm working on the Balmung, but I need some images of the ship. Preferably a dorsal view, has anyone seen this?
Or how can I get in touch with Mad Koifish?

Here are 2 images of the mesh of the Balmung. Next I'll start with the textures. Comments are welcome.

As always, I have to take my hat off to you, that looks very good for a low poly mesh. The secondary hull looks spot on.
It may just be a trick of the virtual light, but the flat "step" on the top side of the saucer looks like it should be further out with the centre saucer domed up a little more. The way I see it from the picture it's more of a refit Connie type saucer curve rather than an Ambassador style curve. But as I said, that may be due to the fact its an untextured screengrab.
It also looks like you have a raised seam on the underside of the saucer. Just something to check (separating seams are the bane of my existence).

Thanks for your comment.
I edited the topside
Could you show me on the image where this seam is?

I checked the saucer. I used the position tool to be sure, but I think it was the low quality of the image, I uploaded.
Thanks

You could make some tutorial about making models from pictures if you have time... Than we could 'easily' make ships from STO maybe ...

Hmmm, it is not easy to do just like that. I have to think about.

If you're wanting to learn to model a simple tutorial won't get you up to the skill levels of Aad. It takes years of trial and error and practice. Best thing to do is first learn to kitbash mate. Grab some models and try and make a new design out of them, like what @dvatreknerd314 is doing in his thread: http://www.msfc.com.au/community/index.php?threads/look-what-i-made.5016

I can tell you that making a good quality model isn't completely straightforward, easy, or fast. Some of the best work takes a long time to complete.

I think I saw a vid on the FO site showing how they were modelling the Centaur from a texture file, but I'm not sure

Yeah I know, it's not easy...For now I'm converting various models from other Trek games and other authors to my A1 game to make it better, not just models, I'm adding sounds and weapons aswell...but defintely I'll give a try... I have already some ideas but I need time (which sadly I dont have too much) a most important - patience...
