• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

There is still no sign of season 2 coming on Australian TV. However the DVD release has been scheduled for Wednesday August 16 for people who have not yet seen it:

Until we get the DVDs here in Germany it will take a few decades. We haven't seen Season 2 either.

Is it usual that DVD sets are released before it comes on air?

Season 2 has already aired in the UK, the US and Canada so it has already aired somewhere. Also the first half of season 2 has been our here in Canada for months already with a heafty price of $50CAN for just 10 episodes. The second half will be similiarly priced and there is no word yet about a combined set.

Personally I refuse to spend $100 for 1 season of a show that I'll be ablr to catch in syndication for years to come (also why I refuse to by Trek)

Rod.

99.9% of the time DVD's come out before the show being aired on Australian TV, with the only exception I can think of is the UK created Dr Who.

US, UK and Canada are really lucky compared to the rest of the world when it comes to sci-fi shows.

Season 9 of SG-1 just started on TV lasy Thursday night, BSG Season 1 hasn't even aired yet. Thats why I am now in the habit of buying the DVD sets, they may be pricey but its the only way I get to see all the US/Canada based sci-fi shows.

It has happened before with Enterprise season 4 being on DVD months before its Australian broadcast.
