• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Is the Lafayette Class actually what was in the episode ("Give me Liberte"?), 'cos I just couldn't make out any detail on the screenshots (my screen isn't the best in the world).

Would be very good if it is :excited:
Keep up the good work

(and starts doing happy dance)

updated seaquest mesh

This is at least my sixth revamp of the seaQuest in the year (maybe two) and around my tenth overall (not that I've been keeping track).

I'd have to say mesh-wise its the most accurate and I'm working on getting the texture just right.

I don't really know my way around AFC well enough to track down the stuff you've posted already lol, so I'd say a post here would be good :)

I decided that the Macs needed a distintive flagship to go with the mod, a sort of foil for the seaQuest herself.

I've done various attempts at making such a craft over the years with limited results, however I'm finally happy with this one...

The Alliance Class -- Alexander Bourne DSV

It follows in the tradition of the Atlantis DSV series but is an original design. In my version of the seaQuest universe it is the testbed future designs like the Tempest Heavy Cruiser and and the massive Harbinger Battlesub (moved to eventual A2 mod).

Now by my understanding some of these big boats might have great straightline speed but would turn like a beached whale. Have you given any thought to braodside weapons of anykind? If memory serve Seaquest had only fore and aft torps and forward lasercannons, but no broad side guns. Then again she was designed like an explorer not a warship as I recall too.

True enough, but torpedoes are guided weapons and would not be restricted to a small firing arc. Even on todays boats, torpedoes can be steered onto a heading and then left to its own onboard seeker head, the limit is more the sensitivtity of the boat's sonar wrt it's own wake. Although I'd hope that 2015+ sensors and torpedoes would be more advanced...

How this would work in armada though is a different matter.
