• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I did that but then I have that ugly pink triangle. I am gonna have to get rid of that thing.

On A2Fles there is a mod by Elrond called Pink Blob Be Gone, a blank sod replaces the horrid triangle.

Another thing you may like which can be found on A2Files. Search for either Gavin1701(modder) or Bubbles Go Pop(mod). gets rid of the horrible Selection SOD bubble and replaces it with a status bar.

I still have a lot of tweaking to do. Comments and suggestions are welcomed.

I guess this is supposed to be a AR Romulan BOP? If so might I suggest making the nacelles skinner and longer to give a similar feel to what the AR Enterprise did.

That's my own suggestion as other wise it looks very well done. It's good even with those nacelles to be honest. Well done I look forward to seeing her progress.

She looks good man. I'd also like to see slightly thinner nacelles like Majestic said. But the overall shape is ace, about time we got another AR unit.

Thank you all :D . Sadly, textures are my weak point  . If anyone would like to volunteer, I am all ears :help: .

I must admit... looks like what a JJ RBOP would look like with those curves! ;)

As with regards to textures... I can try cracking at it. The material may not be entirely original. But I hope to make it fairly good.

Hmm, not sure I like the sound of that bit. :-/

Nor do I. Sounds a bit in the shadows to me. Could you please explain further Excalibur.

I agree. Though I am willing to accept any help, I will not use it unless it is original or the original artist have given expressed permission to use it. I have worked hard to gain what little reputation I have.

Hello:
I cannot be of great help in the texture either, but a solution could arrive soon for you SciFiFan.
As for the mesh, I like it, it is quite round and detailed and the AR-style nacelles are nice as they are not a copy of Fed nacelles and it has a more menacing-Romulan look.
Keep it up!

Here is a BOP by Destynova. Give the man credit and you can use his stuff

Thanx, I'll give them a look. I still prefer to do my own first but, if all else fails...

Well, I am a good photoshopper, but not the best at making original textures (I haven't been able to figure out how to make metal plating yet). Original textures would take quite a while (like a couple months at least) to construct.

...but you will credit, with permission, anyone's work you use right?;)

Because this is not a personal mod, you need to be sure to have all the proper permission for the work you are using.

That is my default... I always give due credit and ask permission where thought to be necessary or where requested.

Well if nothing else the bird is perfect so it will give you a head start on making your own.

I would recommend trying out Achilles texture tutorial, it's what Aad and I both use. While I am not great at it. I am getting better.

I may be able to give you hand if you really need some help. Just give me a holla via PM if the need arises.

I appreciate the offer of help. I am fine with the base textures, it is the details that I have the most problems with. That bird on the bottom is giving me fits. I don't want to use the traditional yellow bird. I want it to be an off green. The base color I am using for the hull is a gray green.

Have you thought of an orange or off orange colour? As for the bird, perhaps have an outline of a darker colour will help it stand out more.

What program are you using to create textures?

I use photoshop 7. Occasionally, I'll use MS Paint for some detail.

I use a mixture of Photoshop 10 (CS3 Extended) and Corel Paintshop Pro. If you need any help in this endeavour let me know and I'll do what I can to help.

People, don't forget GIMP. It may not be as super-powered as PS, but it's free. I do everything with it. And it doesn't crash five seconds before you want to save... ^^
