You all are following my R'Norra Class Warbird. I have taken a small break from her and ended up started texturing another ship. I have decided to start a thread that will feature all of my future projects. I figured this would be better to keep up with than to start a new thread for each project. Not to mention it will save space on the server to which I am certain Majestic and Co will appreciate. Well, without further ado, here is the first (actually my next) project.

Bonaventure-1.jpg

With as easily this texture is coming together for me, she may end up done before the R'Norra.

Looking great Sci-Fi Fan, that's your model of the Bonaventure right? Looking good. Mine I still need to see about releasing at some point with the Asia, Constitution, Akula and a few others.

I'll be sure to keep my eye open here. Come on the TOS.

I have the base textures done on the Bonaventure. I have to do the light maps and Borg textures. Then I have to do the HP map, ODF, Build Button, and Admiral's pic.

Bonaventuretextured.jpg

Also Jetfreak, I will revisit those other models I have started. It will be a slow process because I got on a model building craze without getting anything else done.

I just about done with the HP map for the Bonaventure. I am having a little difficulty getting everything in their right place. The drawback from not doing anything in a while. I have come up with an interesting way to show off the ship. I hope y'all like them.

The Bonaventure is done.....I hope. I have everything needed to get it in game complete. I have, however, left my Armada II CD at home so I must wait till later to test it and get a screen shot to make the Admiral's Pic. Once that is complete, I will submit it to both Armada Files and here on MSFC. I plan on doing some weapons for it (my first attempt at sprites) that I will release later (a few days if all goes right).

If I may make a suggestion, copying a sprite entry already in the game is easy to do but may not be all that you want. Rake's Weapons Textures has some brilliant work in it and everything is laid out simply enough even a newbie like me could create one from scratch using Rake's work as a template.

Bonaventure looks outstanding! Well done!

Freyr has offered to do some textures for me. We talked on FF and he knows exactly what I am after. The weapons will be a TOS/TMP Hybrid. It will have the look of the TMP phasers with the coloring of the TOS phasers. He is also going to do a phase canon (as seen in the Kelvin scene on Star Trek (the small white weapons fire)).

Bonaventure looks outstanding! Well done!

Thank you very much :D

I have the New and Improved Bonaventure in game. I just need to get a good shot for the Admiral's pic and maybe redo the wire frame and she will be ready for up-load. I plan on up-loading her here but may wait to get some others done and release a ship pack on Armada Files. Consider it to be a sneak peak.

Awesome work.

However the textures like like they are glowing, have you added lightmaps?

If not you need to add the following to the end of the material name:

Code:
_!noalpha

If you have added lightmaps you need to add the following to the end of your material name:

Code:
_!default

Something I had to get taught to do as well when I first started with MS3D. ;)

I look forward to the submission.

Thank you for the tip. I have indeed added light maps. I added the coding and it does look better.....from some angles. The base color is just light enough that you can't really see it. I may try to darken it up a little but, I don't want to get too far from the TOS coloring.

It's up mate, as is Jetfreak's file.

Awesome work on the Bonaventure too, I must say it's one of the best TOS fan designs ever made and you've done some quality work here.

Thank you very much. I think I will do several Pre Tos Federation Ships. The next will most likely my take on what the Kelvin would look like in the Prime Time line.

I have decided to do a "Federation First Fleet." This will be a fleet of ships that could have been built in the time between when the Federation was founded and when the Enterprise was built. Some will be ships of my own design and some will be my rendition of others. You have already seen the Bonaventure. Next is the Kelvin.

Hey that's pretty good Sci-Fi Fan. Nice to see a TOS style Kelvin, I was never overly fond of the design, a reason I think that I never attempted one myself.

Keep it up, the good work I mean, looking forward to seeing her in action.

These are looking better and better every time you show us something new. Really liking the "Prime" version of the Kelvin a lot

Thank you very much. Personally, I did like the Kelvin it was familiar, yet new, all rolled into one. She will serve as the scout in my Federation First Fleet as a predecessor to the Hermes.

Thank you. I have definitely come a long way since I began less than a year ago (first mod released in March of this year). Goes to show where one can go with a little practice and encouragement. :D

Definitely like the overall shape and design, reminds me of the USS Iowa concept from Ryan Church.

No Updates.

Just wanted to let y'all know that I have not had any updates because of some family health issues. My dad has been diagnosed with cancer. I had been taking him to the hospital for all of the tests. His treatment began this past Friday with a surgery on his left shoulder. I may be taking him back to the hospital through the coming weeks as his treatment continues.

That's completely understandable mate, my mother went through cancer a few years back and I was at work for 8 hours per day then at the hospital for like 4 hours so I can relate and understand.

I hope your father pulls through, as while no regularly reported by the media, but the majority of cancer suffers actually pull through and live a long and healthy lifestyle.

Hello:
Well, that is bad news indeed, but Majestic is absolutely right. I also hope thing will turn out for the best for you and your family .
As for your Kelvin type ship, it looks awesome and I like the TOS feel you gave it.
