• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Sadly I haven't been watching very faithfully since the middle of season 2, but I will catch up before the 4th season starts.

The planned Direct-to-DVD movie has green light and will focus on the crew of the Pegasus and Admiral Cain.

Indeed, I've been following the SG-1 direct-to-DVD movies but this is the first I've heard of a BSG one... What's the scoop?

Some time ago RDM said something about wanting to make a full movie of BSG, 2 full hours.
The production company then gave green-light for a direct-to-DVD movie - and now some time ago Moore stated that it has something to do with the Pegasus and her crew and has also a link to the third and fourth seasons of BSG.
(Now don't ask me how THAT works  )

The fourth season will be BSG's last:

"Battlestar Ending Next Season

The producers of SCI FI Channel's Battlestar Galactica confirmed that the upcoming fourth season will be the show's last. Executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick said that it was a creative decision to end the acclaimed series with the upcoming 22-episode season.

"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," Eick and Moore said in a statement on May 31. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there: We're going out with a bang."

In November, a special two-hour Battlestar episode, "Razor," will air. The fourth season kicks off in early 2008.

At last month's Saturn Awards, Edward James Olmos said that the upcoming season would be the show's last, prompting Eick to say at the time that no decision had been made. "I promise you that when Ron and I make a decision about Galactica's future, we'll let you know," he said then."

This is sad news indeed, I thought this series would at least run for 5 seasons if not more. :(

I just hope if this is the case they get their new series "Caprica" up and running not long after BSG concludes.

:( While this is indeed some bad news, I honestly didn't expect it to go past three, I think this fourth season will be one to remember :D

The second half of the fourth and final season will not be shown until next year:
TV.com: BSG boss: No more until 2009
"Moore told TVGuide.com that he doesn't see any way that the second half of Battlestar's season would air in 2008, confirming what had been speculated long ago. Previously, cast members had said that the last 10 episodes of the fourth and final season would not air this year, causing distress among the show's fans everywhere."
