• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

RIP Leonard Nimoy

NYTimes reports that Leonard Nimoy passed away this Friday morning in his LA home. According to his wife, the cause was an end-stage pulmonary disease.

RIP Leonard, you will be dearly missed.

A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.

Of all the souls I have encountered in my travels his was the most...........Human.

I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry... Argh this scene is the worst for bringing forth a tear. I just heard Monday he was in the hospital. So sad. RIP

This is awfully sad. I hope Shatner, Takei, and the others are taking this okay.

I just heard Monday he was in the hospital.
I had no idea he was in the hospital.

@ISS_Enterprise_D That scene is very fitting. Well done.

Also, a message from the STO Executive Producer.

salamiinferno said:
I want to once again express my heartfelt condolences to the friends, family, and fans of Leonard Nimoy. Everyone at Cryptic Studios was saddened to hear of his passing and we want to make sure we never forget the cultural impact of the man or the character he played. To that end, the Star Trek Online team will implement a standing in-game memorial to Spock and Leonard Nimoy this Thursday March 5th with our regular weekly maintenance.

In this way, we hope to keep his memory as alive in our game as he is in all of our hearts.

Yeah, I might just binge-watch TOS today to honor him.

I am very saddened at this as well...
I hope this picture I did is not in bad taste...
Not at all, it's very fitting. I guess that from now on, this whole scene will be even more emotional for many of us.

I heard this while I was away. A true legend and one who was the most passionate about Trek and it's original message of embracing differences and expanding the knowledge of us all.

He will be truly missed, Trek as lost one of it's greatest. Rest in Peace....
