• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well, it's been a bit since I've done any modeling since College, so while I'm out on summer break I'm trying to get back into the mix of it. The guine-pig for this is a Bird of Prey design for the Remans that's been floating around in my head. So far it's a bit over 300 polys, but I haven't gotten rid of any stray ones yet.

She's suppose to be small, around the Klingon's B'Rel Scout (or their Bird of Prey in A2), but she's a tough one. Her offensive power is going to be slightly greater than the Shrike, but what she gains in power she'll lose in defense.

What do you think?

Looks pretty good-- throw a nice set of frosty dark Reman textures on there, and that'll be a real winner.

The design is there no doubt, though I can't say if it looks Reman enough.. We've only ever seen one Reman ship, so don't really know if it works. The model is good though, and it may be a case (as with a lot of things) that it'll look better once textured.

i personally like it, it looks like the scimi, but different enough to clearly be another ship, if that makes sense...

Thank you ^^ And it does, That's what I wanted to achieve with the body and the direction of the wings.

Well, I've started work on the textures, and I've done a bit of tweaking to the mesh, here's a quick look at it so far;

Also, how do you smooth out the mesh for Armada? I know that it can be done by wielding and wielding the vertexes, but it doesn't seem to carry over to the game.

Thank you, though I'm having a hard time doing a design for the main body, especially the back on making an impulse system that doesn't look...corny o.0

Achilles; I do see what you mean, and with hope the textures will help solve that a bit...though if it doesn't then she's going to be one tiny warship.

Though the Actual Model may be smaller, If I remember Correctly than you can scale it in the Odf file to make it appear larger in game.

That usually makes a ship look tacky if the design itself doesn't look big. For an example in canon the K'Vort BOP looked tacky when the design FX team made it almost as big as a Galaxy class.
