• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

That's a very impressive design and build and the texture really sets it off.

yeah its the embedding code

Upload it to youtube, then all you need is the URL link and it will embed the video automatically. The board here doesn't support html, for security reasons. Most php boards don't support it automatically and while vBulletin gives you the option (an option that is off by standard) I felt it was wise to leave it off.

Also photobucket is fine as well as a few other video hosting sites, but my personal recommendation as a internet user would be youtube.

Here's some pictures of "Avatar" (Named after the forum things four years ago not the upcoming film which may cause the name to change if there's any problems) which is a vessel being repaired in the shipyard facility where "Phantom" is being constructed.

The "Avatar" is a "tactical" slege and is basically a mobile turret seven decks deep and houses duel particle canons and torpedo launchers for maximum damage to enemy vessels breachin the Alliance Boarders.

WIP obviously. Texture and additional sections to follow.

i like that "vacuum cleaner - look" a lot.
a bit like a streamlined Sulaco from Aliens and i love that ship.

But that connection in the middle :naughty: doesnt look good....
its a simple box right? and that box doesnt fit at all to the round ship shape.
im also not very happy with those boxes on the outsides, but they are far better than the connection.
Edit: i believe those parts are still under construction so, everything else looks fine

lol. The box in the middle is my 'ruler' to make sure they are exact distance from each other. The Avatar is symetrical in shape but details vary.

At the moment its being built to the illustrated diagrams I have. The side 'boxes' with windows on the side are missing the fuel lines and sensor arrays. The solar pannels also need to be added to the front of the lower and upper dips so it'll break the 'boxy' look hopefully :p

The only 'connector' as such is located on the outer edges of the engine modules which are one of the canon supports (the other being found on the drive unit which will sit above it :)

Looking good, interesting design that appeals to me more than your previous ship and to help you out with spoilers Adam just use this button:
bbspoiler.gif
then add a title in the pop up box and they will work perfectly. :)

lol, I guess so

With Star Trek ships and some of the Star Wars, infact virtually every sci fi ship I can think off off the top of my head have grilled engines, or tiny little things for some massive craft. Theres no sense of power or thrust which is why Parallel Alliance craft have them, they need to be able to breach planetary atmospheres and move around space.

I never understood how a couple of little thrusters are able to get something like the U.S.S. Voyager from Star Trek or some of the smaller Star Wars fighters out of atmospheres lol

not sure if im a fan of the canons now they're in 3D though :/ may vary them a little but theres still a bita detail left to do on em

Hi peeps, finally got my machine back on track! With it, I've started work on the new Phantom Mk2 concept which is basically an updater for previous concept model. This final one should basically look very closely to the final thing more or less.

The new concept features all the script elements including various animations and interactable parts (IE landing gear, escape pod doors) etc.

Loving her atm and shes only just begun the change from schmatics to 3DSMAX lol

WOW! Loving the detailing you're putting into this. I really enjoy watching someone do work of this calibre. Not enough of it around here.

Cheers mate

First time i'm attempting a high poly model. Usually model 2000 poly models. Phantom at the time of this last batch of pics was taken at 106,8** something, cant remember. Modeled up the shuttle bay and the neck that supports the armour plates and is now at 108,954 polies :)
