• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

 This is great. It is one more reason I will buy Portal 2, and you should too. If you don't know what Portal is, google it, buy it, and then buy portal 2 when it comes out.

IGN said:
Valve has confirmed the PlayStation 3 version of Portal 2 will feature cross platform play, allowing PS3 owners to play multiplayer games with PC and Mac users.

At E3 2010, Valve announced the PS3 version would include Steamworks, a set of publishing and development tools that integrates, among other things, game updates and community features.

Alongside cross platform play, PS3 owners also get persistent cloud-based storage of saved games, cross platform chat (PC/Mac and PS3), and a digital Steam Play copy of Portal 2 for PC and Mac at no additional cost by simply linking your PSN and Steam accounts.

I hope that link is allowed since it is technically a news article. If not, I can just quote it or something.

Sounds great! A friend of mine bought the first one and we had a lot of fun with it. Seems like the sequel will be just as good. :yum:

How does multiplayer work in Portal 2 anyway? Does one player get to control the blue portal and the other player gets to control the orange portal or do both players have their own set of portals to use?

I personally like to go with the really light stuff and the really heavy stuff. Cougars can be fun little mechs for their speed. For simple firepower, however, I like to use a Behemoth with three clan PPCs and ten light machine guns.

What were we talking about again?

Links fine Adm_Z. However it's good policy to also quote the article as some don't like going to sites they know or trust. :)

Links are okay if they won't lead to a forum. Like wikipedia can be linked without any concerns.
In fact, if you post a news item it is always good to post a source...

Other than that: qoute the first abstract of an article as well :) I added that in your post.

Could this be a glimpse of the future? Cross platform on line gaming via steam... (beats the hell out of XBOXLIVE anyway...) After going PC rather than Xbox for my gaming fix, Ive never looked back...:excited:

I personally keep away from Steam, even though I have a key and all the install CD's for Half-Life 2 they still are making me download the entire game, that's a load of poop. I hadn't have the bandwidth or download speed for that.

I'll stick with X-Box Live myself.

That is a bit off - why waste the D/L time and bandwidth when you have the CD right there...?

Steam can do some interesting things...

I for instance have problems playing COD4 and COD5 WaW on line, punk buster is not 100% compatible with Steam - and so kicks you intermittently...

Irritating, very irritating...:x

Yeah, it has its issues, but so does anything like that for PC if you don't have a really fast internet connection. Thankfully, it will be perfect for me.

What I want to know, is if you can now play multiplayer with other games you have on ps3 and steam? I have some games for ps3 that have great multiplayer, but I know nobody with a ps3. However, if I could play with someone at my house on my steam account, and all I had to do was buy the game on steam, it would be worth it to me because I love PC gaming. :D

I really do hope this is a glimpse of the future Dino, I really do.:excited:
