• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Well I was taking a quick break from Star Wars modding and found an old mesh I made once.

This was back last year, before Clone Assault was started, and I thought to myself I should make an NX-era TC for armada. So I whipped up a couple of ships and went to texture them... and couldn't :x

I can model pretty well; but texturing is terrible on my part. The only reason I can continue with Clone Assault is because all the races have three generic textures.

Anyways; I found this model and decided to give it another go and found quite a good texturing tool.

Using the bake to texture button in 3ds max I can essentially create a blank slate to detail on. I took this a step further with procedural maps and lighting setups and got this:

What does everyone think? Should I give up now or plan my next mod project after Clone Assault :D

Looking awesome Amateur and yes I would love a ENT era mod and think if you wish on doing one to go ahead with it.

Texturing is one of the hardest things with modelling, many in the community can model but can't texture. I can't do either all that well, thats why Syf is the modeller in YY he does by far much better work that I could ever do.

I am sure many in the community would love to see this (a ENT Era Mod) and would supply various files for you to use such as sounds, GUI's and the works.

Well it wouldn't be until Clone Assault has finished... but I think I'm gonna make it.

I loved Enterprise, and the Romulan war was never covered in 'canon' Trek so I have an open slate to work on, always the best in my opinion.

I know that the Romulan war mod on A2files is based on the Starfleet museum timeline.

A potential ENT-mod in the offing? Sounds interesting, to say the least!

A nice looking model.

I'd like to suggest making the textures darker.
