No, Legacy has not been released. It is currently due for release on Dec. 5th, and my store will have it to me then, or no later than the 6th.

I'm guessing that they found a major bug in the game at the last minute.

The reason behind the error on Maddoc's site is that Maddoc doesn't update very much. They have a history of poor site maintenance. The Bethsoft forums have addressed this issue. So, ignore Maddoc's error.

It may be released later for Australia now. I asked at my local EB games shop and they still do not have the game in their system. It was originally due out on the same day as North America.

I will be back up there in a week to ask again.

It's a sad thing that such bad rep is building on such an "awaited" game. All I can hope for is that they knock our socks off with an awesome game experience plus an incredible modding engine.

No changes in release date yet...

I have been keeping a close eye on the release, and have good news. No changes thus far. It is one week before the release...:excited:

Well, I don't think that I will buy Star Trek Legacy (my money went out for a SoftAir M-4 Carbine), but I hope for all of you that it will be finally the Trek game we (you) hoped for so long.

I've been checking around. As of today, My game store still has Dec. 6th as the arrival date. So, it looks like the US release is in fact the 5th, and instores by the 6th.

The UK and EU release date is now reset to Dec. 15th.

Bad news, Canada may not be included in the North America Release.

For Aussie land, I can't find a dang thing giving me any clue as to it's release there. So, I hoping that you guys get it the same as EU/UK.

Also, I have no intel about a Mexico release. I don't know if it's included with the US or not.

Asia release, no word of any kind. But I'm sure if it's not released, that Bethsoft/maddoc will lose a few kilos of cash to the pirates.:lol2:

Update

Here's an update direct from the Bethsoft forums

RMoore said:
UPDATE: DEC 1st..Got a response from Erin Losi at Beth.It ships DEC 5th NA..

I have asked Bethesda about Europe/UK also, but havent heard back.

Sorry I didn't know what to put for Europe, but I'm thinking it's gonna be like a week later.
I haven't heard back from Erin about the official date for Europe/UK

Gamespot is saying the PC version comes out this week and the 360 next week.....

Also note, it appears that the UK/EU release includes AUS.

RMoore is a moderator on the Bethsoft forums, and is an EX-Trek productions Staff member. He actually was a writer for the different series. Here's a quote from the official star trek site...
STARTREK.COM said:
Ronald D. Moore

Ronald D. Moore served as co-executive producer of Paramount Network Television's Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Moore joined Star Trek: Deep Space Nine's production team as supervising producer in its third season.
After graduating from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Moore moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a writer. He sold his first script, entitled "The Bonding" to Star Trek: The Next Generation and was hired in 1989 as a staff writer. Two years later, Moore was promoted to supervising producer and held that position through the final season. He wrote or co-wrote 27 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation including the series finale, "All Good Things...," for which he won the Hugo Award for excellence in science fiction writing.

Moore's feature film credits include co-writing Paramount Picture's "Star Trek Generations" (1994) and "Star Trek: First Contact" (1996). The latter film became the highest grossing of the eight Star Trek films, reaching over $145 million worldwide. Additionally, Moore acted as consultant on two of Paramount's CD-ROM interactive games, "The Klingon Experience" and "Star Trek: Borg."

In 1999, Ron briefly joined the staff of Star Trek: Voyager before leaving to pursue other writing opportunities, including the series Roswell. He recently served as executive producer on the miniseries "Battlestar Galactica" for the SciFi channel.

So I have to believe that Ron has a real "inside" connection to Legacy.

Edit: I forgot to mention, It's the 5th here now. When I get up in the morning, I will be calling to confirm my order at my local GameStop. I just visited their site to see about any release info they have. They are still saying the pre-orders ship on the 5th. That means in the next 36 hours, I should have my copy of Legacy

Also, look what I found...

The PC version cover

Now for the bad news. The XBox360 Version has been delayed again. My GameStop is showing that the pre-orders of it ship on the 12th. But, here's the XBox360's version cover...

Sorry about that bud. But, it's coming, so hang on.. Just another week. I'm guessing that Mexico is in with North American release, so you should be able to get your order within 2 days of the release.

Good News, I just called my Game Stop, and they said it will be in sometime in the morning tomorrow. He told me I could call to see when the UPS deleivery truck gets there, and that it usually gets there around 9:30 am local time.

So, the question now is, Should I post spoiler images first thing I get it home?
I will post a picture of the box and game cover the moment I get it home.

SOrry about being MIA for 24hrs.

Legacy is out! However, most pre-orders are still in transit. I've checked this morning and this evening, still not it. But I did get a call from the GameStop informing me that the game is shipping and should be in in the morning.

I will have to wait until after I get off of work tomorrow to go get my copy.:(

It's out...but

Well Folks, Star Trek: Legacy (PC version) is finally out in the US.

But now the BAD news...

First, Unless you have a monster of a PC, you will not be able to enjoy it on the PC. It runs very badly on my system.

My Specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1GB of Matched PC 400MHz RAM running in 128bit mode
NVidia FX5500 w/ 256 mb RAM
Dual 160 GB HDs
Window XP Pro w/ current SPs installed.

With all this meeting and exceeding the system reqs of Legacy, I still had to tone down the game settings as low as they could go, just to get the game to run half-arsed.

The game is styled after Starfleet Command more than any other game I've played. It is NOT a replacement for Star Trek: Armada. Actually, Star Trek Encounters is almost the same game.

So, If you really want to enjoy the game, wait for the XBox360 version. DO NOT waste your time on the PC version.

Also, the installer DOES NOT even make, nor give you the option to place an icon on the desktop.

My rating of this game 2/10! I would have said 1/10, but the graphics are very good... Just it is setup for way to high of a system. Honestly, I've seen Bridge commander mods that match the graphics quality of this game.

Oh, and did I point out to get the XBox360 version instead...The PC version is a waste of time.

Sadly I expected that for the PC, and Encounters I mentioned before. I said that it was almost the exact same (as Legacy) but I believe others disagreed with me there. :Y

Oh while I am at it, I said from the beginning that Legacy was nowhere near a RTS (Armada is a RTS) game, but on other sites people were saying that it was.

Anyway enough of me saying I was right.

I was always going to buy the Xbox 360 version and only the PC version if I liked the game enough and wanted to mod it. Looks like the PC version is out for me now.

Legacy hasn't come out in Australia yet as far as I am aware so I will be going by Syf's opinion and information here.

Oh, you were on the ball with what you were saying Maj!... You were right.:p

Ok, Now the greatest news I've found since getting the game... There is already a PATCH out for Legacy! Of all the... Nerve! It's only been on the shelf for less than a day and already, they have a patch out. Yes, I installed it. It still runs bad. I have been combing through my system settings looking for anything that could be causing my problems with the game. I have made the game run a bit, just a wee bit better by fine-tunning my system.:(

Overall, Star Trek: Legacy is a failure in my book.:cry2:

I am personally going to take Bethesda's FAILURE with Legacy into account before I release any of my games to the general market.:yuck:

The 360 version may be better. I have found out that Australia's Release Date is the 21st of December. So that is the second last day of work for the year for me so I will have plenty of time to play it. :)

Well, I've been researching the Bethsoft forums. I've discovered that there are infact people with half the system I have claiming it runs fine on their system. So, I think I will have to poke around my system settings more to see what I can find. If nothing else, I will register my game and then call them about it. Overall, it appears to be more of a compatability issue within my system. But, I am not alone with having a major problem with Legacy. Also, the rating that most people are giving this game are poor at best. It's not impressing anyone.

All I can say to those that are planning to by the game... The XBox360 version, you should not have any issues running it. As for those of us that get the PC version, beware! You may not be able to get it running at first, but maybe you will.

I will research my issues with the game until it runs smooth.

I think the only way Maddoc can save grace at this point, is to release Bridge commander and Armada updates.
