• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I am starting this thread in the hopes of improving the moral of my fellow moders. I know how much work any "simple" project can turn into. As the hours turn into days and the workload never seems to get any smaller:cry2: I personally find besides the support of familly and friends that really good music can help keep the chin up and the jucies flowing. In that vain I'd like to share some stuff that helps push me up that looong hill. I tend to use youtube as a radio station but is you can get copies of these tracks by all means do so. Enjoy:thumbsup:

Ah brilliant stuff. Powerful/emotional music can really push me through some tough modding times. It's a great work motivator and driver. Sometimes the hours just pass by...

My current sounds are from E.S. Posthumous and of course, TSFH is plain awesome. I even listen to McCreary's BSG soundtrack from time to time, not to mention Keiki Kobayashi's genius in his Ace Combat music work.

I listen to classical music, some movie OST or something from Nobou Uematsu. Final Fantasys have the best soundtracks ever

You been looking at my playlist? :lol2:

When I'm modding, I'll either have iTunes cycling through the likes of Queen, AC/DC, or Green Day or I'll have the radio on. When I'm doing something rather more... academic (writing an essay, for example) I'll have Media Player set to my Classical playlist for some relaxing (well, until Wagner or Orff come on) background tunes that don't distract me too much.

Hey this is a great thread!
It depends what I'm trying to do, but the two most oft used lists are things by Immediate Music or some Robert Miles (the Orchestral version of Children if I'm really trying to calm down).

indeed, i have been woring with katala's survailence service, that sorta thing.

I myself like greenday and Ac/Dc but i prefer artists such as linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, Red, 10 years, Flyleaf, Evanescence, Rise Against, just a little harder on the scale, but i do still aprechate a good soft rock song.

Edit: this slection is also heavly influnced by my Guitar playing,

Pardon my interrupting your "soft rock".

WE ARE ZE ROBOTS
WE ARE ZE ROBOTS
WE ARE ZE ROBOTS
WE ARE ZE ROBOTS

:lol2:

Anyway, I also listen a lot of Pink Floyd while modding, and the occasional coldplay (f*** yeah, viva la vida). Recently I've switched over to Voltaire - and noticed my modding projects becoming increasingly morbid, though I do get a lot of inspiration from it. Muahaha.

Awesome thread! Sometimes music can be the thing that makes the time go by nice. I like modelling and texturing, but not as much as playing.

When I'm not playing sometimes I need something to push myself to make them textures! Now would be a great example, after 45 hours of work this week I'm having a hard time sitting down and texturing! Thanks for the music, maybe it'll help me produce something today! :)

Well I think it's appropriate given the title.

I dunno if this was such a good idea after previewing my post. These are typical of what I listen to while modding. However, they may just drop you smack in the middle of the bleak, chaotic wasteland I call my mind. Oh well, Y'all knew the job was dangerous before Y'all signed on to run this herd up to Montana.

The people I work with swear this is my theme song. Pretty catchy tune, actually. Listened to it on repeat whilst adjusting colors this week end.

I listen to bsg and Portal 2 music.;) If you google "thinkwithportals music" you will find the portal website where you can download their first two complete soundtracks.(40 complete songs!) Most of them are really great. A couple are a bit too hard core techno for me, but I love the rest.

This one I have played several times as it fits for a character I am working on a flashback for in another RPG, a character that came over a difficult choice once. A choice that affected him for the rest of his life. :)

Yea I love that one. It helps me controling my temper too.

When I was downbound for the barn, runnin' hard for the yard, I'd drop this one in the CD player and keep hitting Repeat. Wore out the CD I played it so much.

I love Copperhead Road:thumbsup:

Oddly, I was listening to this while working up Galactica all those years ago. To me it fits somehow.
