• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

I still need to get the okay off Ash, I sent him a PM a few days ago about it, but nine of nines (9 of 9) Galor and Keldon he converted. They were high poly (3000 approx each) and I have managed to scrape off over 1000 pollies each and still keep the detail of the high poly versions. If I get the okay from Ash I will post some images of them as well as an accurate poly count.

I also have another texture set that I have managed to get very close to nine of nine's textures so much so that they will fit almost perfectly. They are the (yellowish) textures that where include on models like MAP Kaldon and Kondal and Avon's Makur. Those textures are originally by Wickedzombie, I am actually using some of his textures (most notably his Klingon ones) in Yesteryears.

I am also using the Totally Games Cardassian bases and plan to email MAP about requesting the use of his edited version of his textures so they aren't grey (stock Bridge Commander) but brown like the show.

EDIT:

Well I got permission off MAP to retexture his models and use his modified Cardassian base textures saving me the hassel of attempting to do them myself.

Here are a few of the stations I have done, some are inspired off the Bridge Commander game, where I go the original models from and others are completely new kitbashed by me.

I also got a Hideki retextured last night but still waiting to hear back from Ash as the textures I used as a base are from the Cardassian models he converted. I also have a request to anyone who can retexture as I am having trouble with some of the Cardassian textures, if you can help I currently have 5 models that need retexturing (all of which I have the correct permissions) if you can help it would be appreicated.

i think the starbase is fantastic, and the other bases are good as well.

Thanks Jeddy, although the Starbase is a little high on the pollies so it will be a starting base only and won't be buildable, the boarder station will be the station that one builds when establishing new outposts across the map.

Also the original models had about 6 256sq textures, I got that down to two 512sq textures and have reapplied them. :)

Excellent work there Majestic, a while ago I lightmapped MaP's Cardassian textures for my own game so I could send you those if you want them (if nothing else it should save you some time ).

Thanks for the offer Dan, but I remaped all the textures into two 512 sized textures and thus I will have to do all the lightmaps from scratch.

Thanks Trekie, I always try to have no more than 5 textures per model and usually prefer it if I can only have 2 or three, just makes it easier for the engine when playing ingame.

I'm using the same Nor type Outpost / Starbase in Zero Hour (campaign use only at the moment). Is the best model avaliable I think, obviously you agree. ;)

Must say also, that whilst your Science Facility and Outpost look... basic, I do like what you've done, and how you've done the shipyard. Looks neat. ;)

Oh, and I've replied to your PM. Sorry I've not done so earlier, haven't been on, lot of stuff going on my end, plus a lot of ZH (re)organising.

Yes the outpost I kitbashed from the Nor Starbase, in fact all my models are. Saves only having to retexture and mesh correct only once. The original Nor station has holes where the pylons met the docking ring and I corrected that with very little loss of detail. I also poly reduced the model a little not much as it's still in the 4000 range but it's better than over the 5000 that it was.

Its been a while hasn't it. Well good news to anyone following this. Over the next couple of weeks I plan to release all the models and files I have done for this.

The Dominion will be a single pack including everything done so far, it's playable but by no means complete. I still need to hardpoint the non-combats and get a readme sorted out. You will need modding experience/knowledge to get this ingame as it has no AI or anything yet.

The Cardassians I plan to release as single model files, most are already available but poly reduced such as the Cardassian Galor and Keldon Ash released quite a while back. Others like the Hideki have had texture changes and some like the stations are new.

I am hoping tomorrow before I go to Sydney to get some of these done and uploaded for all of you to enjoy.

looks great so far Majestic. I can see the Cardassians in my game getting a massive amount of replacements lol, those are much better designs than the stock game.

who knows what the A2 developers were thinking with some of those...

Lookin forward to the releases!

The mod, well what is completed has been released. It's now available in the demos sub-section under Star Trek Armada.

All my Dominion stuff is in there Ash, the only thing not included was the admiral log images (but I included the psd template) and the non combat ships I kitbashed but never got to complete hardpointing wise.

I will see about getting those other non-Dominion stuff to you when I get some time but I am in the middle of house and job hunting so it may be a while but I'll see what I can do for you. :thumbsup:

Take your time, there is no rush (unless you call 2009 *late*) :p

I do think NightRaven actually designed it if I recall. I will check the download credits now about it. :thumbsup:
