Modeling Project

[La Patience]

Ok thanks to -RJB-'s recent great modeling work I have decided to work on a project. instead of just one random model I will be doing a series all linked to one ship. so far it is unamed but I have a working model and several plans for other related models.

First i will have a ship model done which will be detailed more and more as I progress and also I will be doing some inside scenes such as corridors and rooms (this thanks to my friend showing me some he made for a game he made) and finally some models of Defence droids.

As for time wise, um since I have always been one of those poeple who get so far and then things go on hold and you never touch them again. I am setting a 2 month period for completed ship and 4 months after for inside shots and droids. this may seem long but this is just a guide line. I may not take this long but certainly not longer.

well thus far I have no renders as I'm at colleg now but I will have some preliminary as soon as possible. just don't be expecting some -RJB- like masterpieces (-RJB- there is no way I could compete with you lol).

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with the interior parts. I've always wanted to do a boarding scene on an abandoned star ship.

Don't feel too bad about setting a long time frame to finish, I myself never set one since I never know what life will throws at me. I also feel that it makes you race against the clock and not live up to your fullest creative ability.

Well its more of a guide line because for me without a deadline, nothing gets done lol. still I set it long to allow me the time. well as stated before hopefully those preliminary designs should be up soon (by wednesday-thursday) and we will see how it goes there after.

I'm interseted in making the droids as I have a few sketched designs and I think I can create them well. plus I have a new 1204 page PDF file on Blender so A LOT of reading to do (it comes with tutorials so woot).

Well what matters is that works for you right?

I think I'll be adding some interior stuff to my current project since you got me interested in that.

Ok here are my alpha model shots lol. So far only the front has been modeled and its still pretty early. It probably looks like it took about 5 secs but it took hours to get a desired front lol so bare with me.

well there they are. no real biggy but I like it so far. I don't know if ya can tell this far in but I am wanting a Homeworld feel to it (I know -RJB- has played on it lol). I am also going for front hanger design like my compatition model as I like that idea. I have seen it Beveled and it is a real improvement but I will wait until the end of the skeleton model is done before beveling it pirminently and Greebling it lol.

I know the feeling. It took me about 2 hours to get the basic shape for my ship to the point I wanted it and for the first half hour I was tempted to drop that model and restart from scratch since I was not happy with how it was looking.

Ok Not a visual update (they will come tomorrow) But I have basicaly finished the work on the design of the ship and have begun to add detail to it. The design took forever to get right as I just couldn't fit the head onto any body design.

Anywho you shall see some pics tommorow or wednesday depending on computer availability.

Ok here is the first few shots of the design. I know it kinda sucks but apart from my contest model this shape was kinda hard to add to. Plus add that to my limited modelling knowledge and you understand lol.

Still I will percevere as each model i hope gives me more practise and I went through a few designs before just returning to the original concept of a hanger mouth lol.
