• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Merry Christmas MSFC!

It's summer below the equator so It made sense for Katala. Up here, however, it's winter so we have Winter Solstice. Doesn't the tilt of the Earth make things confusing?

Anyway, happy holidays!

Yes my Friends there is a Santa Claus

Or rather ther Was a Santa Claus at one point in time so whenever someone says to you that Santa is not Real you can tell them he is because here is
Saint Nicholas (Greek: Άγιος Νικόλαος , Agios ["saint"] Nikolaos ["victory of the people"]) (270 - 6 December 346) is the canonical and most popular name for Nicholas of Myra, a saint and Greek[3]Bishop of Myra (Demre, in Lycia, part of modern-day Turkey). Because of the many miracles attributed to his intercession, he is also known as Nicholas the Wonderworker. He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and thus became the model for Santa Claus, whose English name comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas. His reputation evolved among the faithful, as is common for early Christian saints.[4] In 1087, his relics were furtively translated to Bari, in southeastern Italy; for this reason, he is also known as, Nicholas of Bari.

The historical Saint Nicholas is remembered and revered among Catholic and Orthodox Christians. He is also honoured by various Anglican and Lutheran churches. Saint Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, merchants, archers, and children, and students in Greece, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, the Republic of Macedonia, Slovakia, Serbia and Montenegro. He is also the patron saint of Barranquilla, Bari, Amsterdam, Beit Jala, Siggiewi, Liverpool and huguenots. In 1809, the New-York Historical Society convened and retroactively named Santa Claus the patron saint of Nieuw Amsterdam, the Dutch name for New York City.[5] He was also a patron of the Varangian Guard of the Byzantine emperors, who protected his relics in Bari.

A nearly identical story is attributed by Greek folklore to Basil of Caesarea. Basil's feast day on 1 January is considered the time of exchanging gifts in Greece.

Yes and it was a rather warm do to begin with, however getting closer to evening we had a wonderful downpour to cool the day off and it has been drizzling ever since! It is rather nice have coolness after all the heatwaves we have been receiving lately! And yes for those in the Northern Hemisphere happy Winter Solstice! Personally I'd preffer it to be Autumn or Spring but I'll settle for Winter if I have to, Summer is just way too hot for me! LOL Either way.... Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas all!

Christmas always seems to be a bit sad in some ways. It builds up for aaages (the shops start with it in about July/August here), then all of a sudden, by the time Christmas dinner is finished... so is Christmas.

Christmas is a holiday that is celebrated globally. Like Atlantis said, it suddenly "stops", even though it took so much to prepare for.

But, we can walk away each Christmas with a few things (not tangible) -

1.) The reminder why you live in separate houses from the rest of your family. No offence, we all love our brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, and the rest of our beloved family.

2.) Relief that it's over.

3.) The new year is coming!

.......

OK, that's a few things I take from Christmas as it's over... but here are a few other things, less benighted -

1.) The good feelings we all get from giving someone something they really wanted. This is true especially for us parents toward our kids.

2.) We got to see our family whom we seldom see.

3.) We had a fill of Christmas dinner and still have a week's worth of food left over (after giving half of it away).

"Kids, fill your plate and place it in the nuker for 1:15 minutes when your hungry.... I'll be in my den, do not disturb" **as he leaves the kids and heads toward the den. Suddenly, he stops and looks to see if the kids were watching. A smile arched across his face as he noted they were all busy about. He quickly grabbed the new super duper uber gaming console and the 32 games he gave the kids for Christmas, then off to his den with the games in hand. Slamming the door shut, he let out a sinister laugh... "Mah ha ha ha ha ha.... mine.... All mine!" he said as he started to plug in the console to his private widescreen TV.**
