• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Here's where anyone can freely talk about STL. PC, XBox360, Rants, Raves, and Technical Issues.

So, Feel free to post whatever it is you want to talk about Legacy about, just keep it civil!:p

Also, please include what platform (PC or XB360) you are using if you are having technical issues, along with your system specs.

I'm sure that the XBox360 version will be better. Simply put, all the hardware is the same in the consoles, unlike PCs. PCs have too many variables. Different CPUs, Video Cards, etc. So, I'm sure the XB360 version will be great for what it is.

But overall, I'm disappointed. The FAQs on Bethesda's site claim it's an RTS, when in fact it's not. It's more like ST: Starfleet Command, which is not an RTS, unless the industry re-defined what classifies as an RTS.

I remember everyone saying it was a RTS game several months ago. Alot of people believe what they read, even when the facts are right in front of them and they are determined not to see them. I have always argued that point as like you Syf I can't understand how a Space Tactical Game has anything to do with a RTS.

The core elements of a RTS game are:
*Unit Construction
*Resource Gathering
*Controlling Large Fleets/Armies over large maps with the purpose of wiping out the enemy. (3-5 ships are nowhere near large).

So as you can see Legacy doesn't have any of these. Thus its not a RTS but a Action/Space Combat game like the SFC series.

I actually think of it more like Bridge Commander, than Starfleet Command, but I haven't played it but five minutes before I quit because my 2.4Ghz processor is too slow.

STL is basically ST: DWars, ST:confused:FC, and ST:BC all wrapped into one. I never really was a 3rd person gener player. But, I have STL, and it's along with all those others gathering dust now.

Let me know if it runs OK on the 360. I'm thinking of getting a XB360 in the next couple of months.

Got ST: Legacy problems on the PC? Here's what I've found. Video cards are the number one problem. If you don't have a Nvidia 7000 series card, you WILL have problems running. If you have a ATI card, good luck. They appearently only test a couple high end cards. Most of the systems reporting NO problems with this game are running a NVidia GeForce 7000 series. ( the higher the number, the better). Some of the better 6000 series seem to have fewer problems. But, the lower 6000 series have problems too.

Their is no PCI card that will work for the PC game it requires PCI Express or AGP cards.

That's why I always build my own systems. I know what I have, and what it can do, and what kind of upgrade options I have.

I'll test them as soon as they are released. If they are, it'll be a great boost to the communities for Armada and legacy.

Since I don't have 360, I can't be sure on what's wrong. But remember that Legacy demands extremely a lot of the station playing it, many say that it's ridiculous high requirement for Legacy. So maybe your 360 just isn't powerful enough.

360's are single spec, all the same. Well minus different hardrives.

Sean is right, the 360 is a console, they are designed to play any game that comes out of the system so they are all identical with the only variation is the hard drive size.

I have the 360 version but no live connection, too expensive for something I would rarely use so I too can offer no help.
