Despite an earlier denial, Kylie Minogue will indeed be in the 2007 Doctor Who Christmas Special:

"Kylie to star in Dr Who
Australian pop diva Kylie Minogue will join the cast of British science-fiction TV drama Doctor Who for a special Christmas episode.

The BBC, which produces the series, said Minogue, 39, would play a "major lead role" alongside Dr Who actor David Tennant.

The hour-long episode, "Voyage of the Damned", will start filming in Cardiff, Wales, in July.

"It is an incredible thrill to be joining David and the entire Dr Who production for this year's Christmas special," said Minogue.

"Dr Who enjoys a unique history and it is going to be very exciting to be a part of that."

Former television soap opera star Minogue returned to the stage last November with a sell out concert in Sydney after recovering from breast cancer."

A female Cyberman / Cyberwoman. - How does this work. On the Torchwood episode, everyone (man or woman) who got 'converted' looked the same. Where does the term 'Cyberwoman' come from then?

By a Cyberman / Cyberwoman on the Titanic? What a story this is going to be.....

On the radio it said that the producers are very excited about having Kylie in it cause it will make the series appeal to a wider audience, more younger girls and older men are expected to watch.

All they really need to do is change Dr Who, to something more... explicit, maybe Dr Woo, and involve lots of nudity and such. I can almost guarentee there will be a lot more viewers.

Well doctor who is for children, or other simular minded people (like myself although I consider myself to be a child normally.) I think what you sudgest is basically torchwood, which was pretty uninventive, it kinda took part of the doctor who storyline, and did everything they could to give it an adult rating.

BBC - Doctor Who - The Official Site

At the end of the last series, viewers witnessed the The Titanic crash through the Tardis walls in spectacular style, and tonight's action continues from that moment.

Kylie, who plays Astrid, a waitress on The Titanic, says: "It is an incredible thrill to be joining David and the entire Dr Who production for this year's Christmas special. Dr Who enjoys a unique history and it is going to be very exciting to be a part of that."

Two of Britain's best-loved sitcom actors, Geoffrey Palmer and Clive Swift, also feature in this Christmas episode.

Palmer, perhaps most famous for his roles in the long-running BBC series Butterflies and As Time Goes By, plays the role of Captain of The Titanic.

Kylie Minogue stars as Astrid, alongside David Tennant as The Doctor.

Voyage Of The ****ed also features Gray O'Brien, who recently appeared in the Oscar-winning film The Queen; Debbie Chazen, star of the BBC comedy series The Smoking Room; Olivier Award-winner Clive Rowe; Russell Tovey, from the smash-hit film The History Boys; Jimmy Vee, who previously appeared in Doctor Who as the Moxx of Balhoon; and George Costigan, who starred in The Long Firm and the acclaimed film Rita, Sue And Bob Too."

Trailer for the 2007 Christmas special and the following article states that it will be 71 minutes longer than the 60 minutes for the previous Christmas specials The Christmas Invasion & The Runaway Bride:
BBC - Doctor Who - News - Long Voyage

Someone pointed out that I did not get the wording of this message correct when I said that it will 71 minutes longer than the 60 minutes for the previous specials meaning 131 minutes altogether.

When I meant to say that at 71 minutes the 2007 Christmas Special will be longer than the usual 60 minutes for the previous aforementioned specials.

Sorry about that.
