Interview with 2A-A2 Questions

Okay I thought this might be fun to do.

Please post whatever questions you have for us. I will wait a week then Syf and I will sit down when we have the time and hammer out the answers, so don't expect to see any answers in this thread.

You may ask as many as you like but please be aware we may not answer every question and some we may not be able to due to some things in YY remaining secret.

Also make sure your question are about the project not like "Can I see a screen shot of XYZ ship".

Yes, how old are you guys, and how long have you been doing this line of work? Did you learn by going to school, or trial and error messin' around with some programs? How did the two of you meet, when the both of you are on the other sides of the planet? Was it in a chat room, playing an online game? Yahoo? MSN? How long have the two of yhou been working on this project. Did you start it together, or did Majestic bring Syf in later? How did Majestic come up with this idea? Pop in your head while dreaming? Watching Star Trek? O.K. That is all I can think of right now.

To you guys, what is the best part of modding - what makes it so enjoyable for you?

hehehe, you already know my main question, so I shall not ask it again.

Other questions though...

1) You are having a total of eight species in YY. Once the project has been released, do you have plans at all, to make an expansion pack of sorts?

2) Assuming the answer to the above question is a No. What are the two of you going to be putting your work into next? Are there any big projects coming up, or are you retiring from active modding?

3) How many Campaign missions are there, and how many species have a role in the campaigns?

Can't think of anymore questions at the moment, so will make that do for now.

1) Was there anything that you wanted to include, but were limited by the engine?

2) Following from that; is there any aspect of the engine that would serve the mod better than other space-RTS games could?

3) Are you planning to revisit the TMP era in future mods/games?

4) And finally, do you plan to include any 3rd party mods with the install, such as Midnight universe or pink blobs be gone?

I know that you guys already stated elsewhere that this time period gave you a great deal of flexibility, story-wise. What alternative time periods did you consider when initially brainstorming this mod, and how would they have affected game play?

Legos for me is a long time passion. I haven't built anything with them in a while now, but I still have a modest collection of about 15,000 legos.
