On 7 on the weekend the TV movie If I Had You was shown and it starred Eighth Doctor Paul McGann and The Runaway Bride guest star Sarah Parish.
In If I Had You, Paul and Sarah played lovers. This means that Sarah has played lovers to two Doctors - Paul in this movie and to David Tennant in Blackpool. In fact Sarah looks like Paul's Doctor Who TV Movie co-star Daphne Ashbrook, perhaps Paul mistook Sarah for her.
However Paul and Sarah are not the only coincidence in Who casting to appear in this movie. Also appearing is Sakuntala Ramanee who was Shreela in Survival, the televised Who that preceded Paul's TV Movie (the thirteeth anniversary skit Dimensions In Time which came in between is best forgotten) and Mark Benton who was Clive in Rose, the televised Who that came after the TV Movie. Also interesting is that If I Had You played the song Tainted Love. Tainted Love was played in Doctor Who in The End of the World which came after Rose in transmission. So therefore If I Had You has connected four consecutive Doctor Who adventures together plus the next Doctor Who episode to be broadcast The Runaway Bride.
As for the film itself, it started out very promising, but it sagged towards the end and the ending is frustrating.
Another interesting thing is that a couple of hours after I finished watching the movie yesterday was that I saw Paul again , this time during a break of House on 10 as there was an ad of Paul's new show Tripping Over. Tripping Over will replace House in its 8:30 slot on October 25.
