• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

How fast is your connection?

Yea, those speeds (for you or Andre) faaaar exceed what FO or A2 use

A bunch of years ago I used to play A2 on 1.5 mb/s down, 0.5 mb/s up without any issues :)

I used to play FO online and this was my latest test:

Actually we have both played it online at the same time without any issue on this speed, being that we are in the same house, just shows you do not need alot of bandwidth to play it online ;)

Maybe, but my connection sometimes slows down or drops off the charts completely. Probably a bandwidth thing.

Switched to FIOS recently. It was surprisingly painless except the installation guy accidently cut into our houses main power line. Blew a nice little hole in our basement sheet-rock and set it on fire for a bit. No permanent damage done though, our basement is unfinished anyways. :lol2: Now it is just.... a little less finished.

My speeds appear much faster, however sometimes they feel slower when gaming and webbrowsing. Watching videos seem, fast though, netflix and hulu sure like FIOS.

We were getting tired of some serious dropps in speed, but Xfinity was too expensive, so we ended up upgrading FIOS.

I don't think this test is all that accurate, we are on a 8000KB Speed and it only registered as this:

Our new connection is a bit faster!

Not surprised considering the NBN Network was botched by the corrupt AU Liberal government, who I didn't vote for.

New router :)
upload_2020-1-18_10-55-19.png

After months of pestering me to pay for a new (more expensive) fibre connection - which I've been refusing on the basis they can't even provide a reasonable broadband speed - they've finally decided that they want to upgrade the infrastructure and they'll be moving me to fibre anyway in March. We'll see how it goes... Saved me paying for a router though.
