Herro! My name is SFC3, or starfleetcommand3, from over at STA2 files, STBC files, and STL Files.

I have came over to work on my ongoing compilation enhancement mod, well, A2 - Enhancement Mod (working title).

Some of you may know me from the FF forums, which are almost completely empty now. So have you guys moved over here or something?

Anyway, hello. I'm going to go over to the A2 forums and start on my Enhancement mod thread.


I mean, I'm going to work on it after 10 post.

Hello there! Yeah, many people have migrated to MSFC, it's one of the more active communities nowadays. There are still a lot of people lurking at FF, but they're mostly modding veterans, so there aren't much people asking for help or showing off their projects. FF has lost a lot of visitors because of Break IT's screwup with the servers. But now it looks like they're finally doing what they're paid for, so let's hope for the best.
Anyway, welcome to MSFC, hope you have fun.

And I don't think that you can access the download section for a while after joining.

Yeah, A2F and AFC are getting kind of empty these days. Hopefully we'll start seeing some more activity once A2F is fixed.

Regarding the download section, we've had a lot of people signing up just to use the download section and the Admins wanted more participation and less probability of people redistributing content that's supposed to be MSFC exclusive so they added some conditions. There's a thread about it somewhere.

Yeah, Maj is really cautious when it comes to downloads. I don't blame him for that, there has been a lot of s*** going on in the community with people stealing other people's work (mostly taking something and releasing it under their name or not crediting the original creator) or spreading it without gaining permission. He cares a lot for artists' rights, and that is a good thing to many of us.

Anyway, I think the limit is a week of being registered here, plus a few posts and a little bit of rep. Not that much, really.

in regards to Downloads

Downloads
To be eligible to download files, the user must be a participating member of the community and is required to post an introduction thread in the introduction section of the forums and post at least 15 posts of decent size (mass amounts of single or 3 worded posts within a very small time frame will be deleted as this is noted to rapidly increase your post count just to gain access to downloads and is also considered to be spam), be active for 7 days and have made some contribution to the MSFC community and have a reputation count of 30 which can only be gained by other members giving you positive reputation for great posts.
No excuses will be accepted for not knowing, because if you are unaware, then you have breached the site rules .

And Guys: The reason i registered was becuz i wanted the downloads in the first place, go figure.

Another reason for the download restrictions, is the only way communities grow is if people get involved and support those who release things through posting. Too many people just join to download and not contribute to the community. We Admins regularly go through the member list and if someone comes on and only downloads, if after they access the downloads their account is cleaned out.

Nothing is free, and all we ask is if you want to reap the benefits of the communities hard work the least one can do is tell them that you appreciate it through joining in the discussions on the forums.

Also please re-read the rules as obviously you didn't read them fully when applying for membership which is part of the rules to begin with and is actually in itself a breach of membership. Nearly everything you need to know about the site's policy and operation procedures can be found in the rules section. Normally I would active a option for you to be forced to re-read the rules again, however I only just got up and I am in a forgiving mood this morning.
