• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

So, did anybody other than me see the pilot episode for Gotham?

I saw it, but I'm not quite sure how I felt about it. And I don't know exactly where they're going with the series, I don't know how far they can stretch the premise.

I'm assuming that the Wayne murder will be resolved by the end of the season and the show will progress to something like taking down Falcone or straightening out the GCPD. I liked the writing, acting, and visual style, but I didn't like the inclusion of Ivy Pepper or Edward Nygma. I haven't seen the second episode yet, but I did like the way they included Selina Kyle in the pilot. It seems much more believable than Gordon randomly running into a kid Poison Ivy. I'm still not sure what I think of Penguin. His story seems viable, but I'd have to see more episodes.

It premiered here last week. Overall I was impressed with the pilot. I think they tried to hard to throw in some characters (Nigma and Ivy and Kyle to some extent). So long as they stick with the "good cop in a bent city" type theme it'll be ok, if they start focusing on the kids growing up it'll go bad. Time will tell.

They toned down Nygma after the pilot, thank Kosh, and if Ivy wasn't so blatant I'd classify her as an easter egg. Bruce has showed up in every episode so far, but he's pretty firmly relegated to supporting character. Selina is recurring, but actually relevant to the plot due to what she saw in the pilot.

They are focusing on Gordon, local corruption, and the Falcone and Maroni mobs so far, with some development for Bruce being a secondary thing. I think you'll have to decide for yourself over the next couple episodes if Bruce is getting too much screen time, but I like the show so far.

After watching a few more of the episodes, I'm feeling a lot better about it than I was initially. I'm looking forward to seeing how the season progresses. Now if I could only catch up on Arrow...

It's been advertised here for like a month, the second or third episode is on tonight, but I haven't watched any of it. I feel DC comics is copying Marvel too much, first with the Justice League movie and now a series based off their comics much like Agents of Shield. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I always found the Marvel universe more interesting and colourful than the DC comics universe.

Let me know how the series progresses, if it gets good I might give it a shot down the road.

To me it a wonderful world of stage settings and weaving of tapestries that are the foundation of the Batman mythos and plot structure.

I just watched the latest episode, Penguin's Umbrella. It is hands down the best episode of the series so far. All my lingering doubts about the show were dispelled in one go. I don't even care if somebody walks on screen and says, "Hi, I'm going to be the Joker when this series is over."
