Like I posted, those are not official specs. It could be higher, lower, or about right. That is just my best guess, based on current games of like quality. We will have the official specs the moment they are released (Even if I have to copy them down from the actual game box I get in about 2 weeks).

Well. if these turns out to be the official specs, I'll be fine. My current computer will not run it, but My brother is working on a new computer to me that as soon as he's finished with it, I'll get it. And that computer will run this game. :D

I know I can. My system is easily double those requirements (the massive free space I have on my twin HDs can spare 5GB...).

Question?

Is the Athlon optional in terms of AMD? I have a Sempron 3000 (200 above the requirement) and really am interested to know if it'll work.

A sempron is a stripped down version of the Athon 64s. Here's the specs on a Sempron 3000+ 64.

Model: Sempron 3000+ ...
Frequency: 1.8 GHz
Process: 90nm
Cache: 64KB+64KB L1, 128KB L2
Operating Mode: 32bit
System Bus: 1600

Here's the Athlon 64 3000+ ...
Frequency: 1.8GHz
Process: 90nm
Cache: 64KB+64KB L1, 512KB L2
Operating Mode: 32/64bit
System Bus: 2000

As you can see, the basic overall speed is the key difference. They are actually (for the most part) the same processor. I would guess that it should run Legacy. If not However, you can upgrade to a Athlon 64 3000+ or better for a low price.

That's not what Joelt was talking about bud. He was asking about his CPU (processor). I would suggest you check your CPU specs also.

CPUs = AMD AM2, AMD Athlon 64, AMD Athlon XP, AMD Opteron, AMD Sempron, Intel Celeron, Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core 2 Extreme, Intel Core Duo, Intel Pentium 4, Intel Pentium 4 - Socket T, Intel Pentium D, Intel Pentium- Extreme Edition, Intel Xeon.

A GeForce FX5500 is a video card.

TM, that video card is almost the exact same one I use currently. It really is not as "pitiful" as you think. It will handle Legacy.

Most video cards made today are using integrated DDR or DDR2 VRAM. If you get a 256, you got a 256... Not upgradeable, just replaceable.

I actually mena that if the VC do not need RAM to work (get memory from RAM) If not that it work for itself any other needing.

System memory and video memory work together, but are not calculated together for system specs. It's always best to have at least 2X-4X system memory of whatever your video memory is. So if you are running a 256mb DDR type video card, then you want atleast 512mb-1024mb DDR system ram.

Games like Legacy need a lot of system RAM as well as a video card with a good amount of memory. The GPU and VRAM of the VC is only for holding data that will be directly used onscreen, such as texture files. However, the system CPU and RAM still processes the game itself.

Ta Syf, just wanted to confirm. Also, my sempron was a 64bit pro, so it has some saving grace :)

1GB RAM would be a great asset to play Legacy with. Be sure to get the maximum level of Memory that your system/CPU will support If your CPU is a 266mhz FSB, then get that. AMD Athlon chips have either 266mhz, 333mhz or 400mhz FSB (FSB = Front Side Bus). Also, get memory in matched pairs. so if you want 1GB, then get 2 512mb DDRs, not a single 1024mb(1gb) DDR. The reason for that is a single RAM board runs in 64-bit mode, but a matched pair will run in 128-bit mode (as in why it's called DDR RAM; DDR= Double Data Rate *64-bit input + 64-bit output*). Legacy will love you for it!
