• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Hello Fleet,
Katala, SciFiFan and myself have been working on these for quite sometime and finally have a working final copy for the rules for the fleet.

Please these may be subject to change and you'll be notified when such a change occurs, These rules are in place for everyone so we can build a stong community on here just like on the site and that it's fair for all as well as being advantageous for the fleet and our members.

[fieldset=MSFC Fleet]

General Fleet Guidelines
All members of the fleet need to be respectful to one another, treat each other fairly and get along well. The aim of the fleet is to be a community much like the forum for people to get together have fun, work on missions together and help each other out when in need.
The role of all fleet members is to assist new members and lower members in missions if they wish for the help.

Bank Guidelines
Common Item: These items are free for any member to use. Once done with the item, they are to be returned to the bank.

Uncommon Items: These items can be used by any member. Once used, they become bound. Due to that, they can not be returned to the fleet bank. We ask the user to deposit the recycle value of the item into the fleet bank.
*If you like to find out what that is, once you have the item, recycle it and make note of the EC you get. You can always retrieve the item so long as you do not change maps after recycling.

Rare Items: These items can be used by any member. Once used, they become bound. Due to that, they can not be returned to the fleet bank. We ask the user to deposit the listed value of the item into the fleet bank. You can find this information by either mousing over the item to show the tool tip or right click the item and select info. The listed value is on the lower right corner of the item info box.

Very Rare Items: These items can be used by any member. Once used, they become bound. Due to that, they can not be returned to the fleet bank. We ask the user to deposit the listed value + the recycle value of the item into the fleet bank.

Energy Credits: As of now the EC is restricted to the Council. Be rest assured that this is used only to improve the fleet bank funds. I do have a plan in place to get the fleet more EC with minimal effort on the member's part. Once the bank is set to the Council's satisfaction, daily allowances will begin for members. The higher Fleet Rank you achieve, the higher the allowances. This is to reward members who cooperated within the fleet.

Crafting
Members are no longer required to deposit crafting materials into the fleet bank. They need to hold on to these items. When there is an item a member is requesting, they need to go to Memory Alpha to determine what materials are needed. They then can check which of these materials are still in the fleet bank and send the missing materials to the crafter. This includes the common and uncommon unreplicable materials. The only way to acquire these is by spending Dilitium or purchasing them off of the exchange. Too many times I have personally been asked to craft items for members only to find we don't have everything needed. I know one of these members have been getting frustrated with the situation and I completely understand. He could easily feel that he is being blown off. I ASSURE YOU ALL THIS IS NOT THE CASE!! If we all make certain that the materials needed to craft items are available prior to sending a request, this will eliminate any animosity that may occur.

Council Note - It is our hope that we can get to the point where we will not need members to buy items in the bank. To me that seems to be counter productive to forming a trusting community. I believe the "Crafting Fee" should remain long term as we are sacrificing our play time to craft.

Regards,
- MSFC Council
- Katala, SciFIFan and Majestic

If there is any question to any on how to identify the quality of an item, Uncommon are highlighted green, Rare items are highlighted blue and, Very Rare are highlighted purple.

An update that was sent just now via the message system in-game but also posted here for reference and notification.

[fieldset=Crafting]
Hello all, today SciFiFan, Katala and Myself went on a Fleet Mission of resource crafting, we also invited other players to take part who were on. Unfortunately other than the three of us no one was interested taking part in their own missions and such.

I personally was rather dissapointed as some of these members are the ones who often ask for crafting, yet the three who went on the mission rarely if ever craft for themselves. So it has been decided that if you wish something to be crafted for you, you must participate in a monthly Fleet Resource Mission. This is to benefit everyone and isn't much to ask in return for SciFIFan, Katala and Myself taking the time out to craft things or help out with improving the fleet. In the long-term you are still getting a bargin and saving a lot of Energy Credits/Dilithium you need to spend.

The duration of the resource gathering mission will be dependant on the Council Member whom is conducting it. On average it will be around an hour, could be more, could be less. This is compulsory and bennefits the entire fleet. The council will be putting together a roster of when these missions will take place and you'll be imformed at a later date.

I hope I am not one of the ones you're disappointed with. I do not recall ever asking for something to be made for me. I have been diligently placing all the crafting materials I get into the Fleet Bank. I also placed 10,000 Energy Credits there today as well. I still feel I owe something for the faux pas of deleting a character without removing Fleet equipment prior to doing so.

You weren't on at the time. While everyone is welcome to participate as it is a real team thing and a good way to relax and have a chat while also doing something that doesn't involve shooting or being shot at, it's not a requirement to those who don't ask for things to be crafted. However I think it would be a nice change of pace to the norm.
