This is my review of the final episode of Enterprise with spoliers.

It takes place years after the penultimate episode. The only show in which the final episode takes place years after the previous one that I have seen is Babylon 5.
It is revealed that six years has passed since the events of the previous episode Terra Prime just as the Federation is about to be established.
Then all of a sudden it is revealed that is a holoprogram as we see Will Riker. Now I knew that Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis were going to be in this episode but not as their TNG characters.
For the TNG scenes it takes place during the TNG season 7 episode Pegasus. I have to say that the Enterprise-D here looks exactly the same then when TNG was on.
Given the fact that TNG started the spin-off TV franchise that began in 1987 and ended with Enterprise, it seems that Rick Berman and Brannon Braga were trying to get things full circle as the TV franchise ends (at least for a while). In fact this is the only crossover between Enterprise and another Star Trek show. This is similar to the Voyager episode Flashback in which Sulu and the crew of the Excelsior appeared in Tuvok's memory as he tried to remember what happened when he was serving on the Excelsior.
There were a couple of deliberate puns with Malcolm saying "All good things.." which is the name of the final TNG episode and Archer in a toast with Trip saying "Here's to the next generation."
TNG, DS9 and Voyager ended with something that posed a danger to the universe. Enterprise however does not. It pretty much ends in the same way that TOS ended and that is not with a spectacular plot.
Enterprise in its final episode has the crew rescuing Shran's daughter. It may be an ok plot but not for a final episode.
I have always like Trip so why kill him off for Shran, someone he didn't really like. Trip is the best character on the show, killing him off in this manner is disappointing.
Reg (Barclay) gets mentioned by Deanna while Brent Spiner is heard on the comm as Data.
When I was watching this, people were very disappointed that Riker ended the program just as Archer was about to deliver his speech as the Federation is about to be born as they really wanted to hear it.
The episode ends with the shot of the Enterprise-D as Picard begins These Are Voyages speech which is continued by Kirk with the shot of the Enterprise 1701 and finally concluded by Archer with the shot of the Enterprise NX-01.
In years from now this final episode is not something that is going to be worth remembering about. The Enterprise characters have been made to be secondary as it is more about Riker's issues. I find it debatable whether this is really the final episode of Enterprise with Riker and Deanna as the guest characters or the long delayed final episode of TNG with the Enterprise characters as the guest characters.
Even though DS9 and Voyager was not about a starship Enterprise, fans of these two shows will probably feel left out with the shots of the three Enterprises at the end. After all, depending whether Star Trek comes back years from now, this was meant to be the end of Star Trek overall.

I wasn't a fan of the episode, it was too much on Riker and Troi than Archer and his crew.

The ending with the captains all speaking was a great clip. I'd like to get a copy of it to play, without the rest of the episode. The episode itself was a bummer. And in the episode before it (actually a couple before) when they killed off Trip really upset me. Trip was one of the best ST characters ever. Over all, It's probably a good thing the Enterprise is over. I'm a huge fan, but it was off sync with the rest of trek canon. I will always view Enterprise ans an "Alternate Reality" version of Star Trek.

I'm going to kill whoever decided to kill off Trip!

That was the most annoying and saddening moment in the entire episode which made me not a fan of it!

Trip was by far the best character on the show. Killing him off was a bad move.

Like I have been saying, there are Clowns running Star Trek since Voyager.

The last episodes of Trek ran here in Germany just a week ago.

I only have one demand:

Trek, STOP PUTTING IN GERMANS!
Star Trek should be something intellectual, against generalizing groups of people. But GERMANS seem to be the NAZIS forever. Am I a Nazi? No!
And BTW, Berman and Braga should take their HANDS OFF issues concerning racism and homophobia. The last episodes where disgusting and full of tactical, social, political, psychologic and other kinds of mistakes. It was the worst I have ever see of Trek (Besides Voyager - the only thing I liked in that Voyager episode was Klingons smashing the Nazis).

Berman and Piller have never seen a real Neo-Nazi. If they had, they would not have written such a pointless storyline. Ever seen a coloured Nazi? Yes, in Enterprise was one. *smashing my head on my keyboard several times*

I engage against these Nazis now for several years. And all I can say is: two people that have no idea wrote about something that is very delicate. That is absolutely not funny. And they screwed it up. Like the two-parter in which Archer crashed on Earth and the 1942 Nazis collaborate with Aliens. Yes, President Clark from B5 co-operated with the Shadows, too. But with their Human agents (and JMS' storyline was much more sophisticated).
The Nazis from the B&B ENT storyline co-operated with these Aliens directly. They would not have done that!

Sorry admins, that I wrote such an angry post about it, it is just my personal dislike of such pointless stuff about a) Germans and b) Nazis in history, the present and the possible future.
I bet a story where the Russians won WW2 and fought then against the Western Allies and won, too, would be also pointless, when written by Berman and Braga.

[sarcasm=EAS_Intrepid]As for the last episode: Does TNG come back on screen? TNG Enterprise NX-01 Holo Edition?[/sarcasm]

Agreed here. Plus, they both were 15 years older in that episode (Riker and Troi) than they should have been (obviously cause that TNG episode that took place during that Enterprise episode was 15 years before that Enterprise Episode). Ok, now I'm confusing myself. Anyway, it was the fault of Paramount for letting Enterprise die like that and making them rush the end of Enterprise. It's near impossible to come up with a good plot when rushed.

Thats very true. it just seemed very rushed and well wrong to me. the terran emp eps a few eps before where alot better. yea and Riker seemed to fat in his suit. should have had him during the ent E period if any in my opinion

Err.. Michael Piller died last year and he has not been part of the Star Trek scene since leaving Voyager years ago.

Changed. In the heat of the Battle I wrote the wrong name. But I hope it is clear what I was supposed to say.
