The best thing about Star Wars was that when something came out, you could be 100% sure, that it's Star Wars canon. Unlike in Star Trek, where the official canon ends with the films (minus JJ-verse) and the series. In Star Wars every movie, every series, every book, every comicbook, every game which was officially licensed by Lucasfilm was part of the chronological, technological, religious, etc. canon.
Now this seems to change, because the rumors say that the next movie will be a somehow direct sequel to the Return of the Jedi. However, the events after the Battle of Endor were already written in everal books and comics! We know exactly what happens to the Republic, the Imperial Remnant and the Skywalker-Solo family in the next one hundred years! But if a new movie overwrites this, this beautiful canon will be ruined
JJ Abrams already ruined Star Trek, now Disney wants to ruin Star Wars... I pray for another prequel trilogy, or a sequel on the distant future. Otherwise, I'm not sure if I'll ever watch it.
