Hello to everyone.

I'd like to take a moment to share with you that my good friend, whom also happens to be a super-moderator staff member here is about to embark on the next chapter of his life. Yes, sad as it may be, he is moving on, so to speak. I speak of CrazyFrog. If you don't already know, then let me tell you. CrazyFrog has joined the US Army Reserves. He's going to be leaving us in about a week to go to basic training, then on to Advanced Individual Training (AIT). He will be away for several months. I just want him to know that he will be missed.

I wish you the best ol' friend.

So CrazyFrog, as a tribute, I am sharing the videos that remind me most of you, hence your name, crazyfrog.

I hope everyone that views these will be marked for life to which they never forget you while your gone.:lol2:

Thank you for your support.

Excelsiors190, I do understand your opinion and you are entitled to it. I do disagree with you though. I do feel the Army still serves a purpose. To defend the rights of the citizens of its country from those who would want to do them harm. I agree that war is bad but as long as there are evil men out there that only want to kill the innocent to feel they have some form of control over them. There will be a need for those to defend the innocent. Now in a perfect world there would be no need for militaries but we are not. As far as the U.N. I feel it is a joke in its current state. Its intentions are good but it has no real power.

I scored very high on my tests and that was with having a headache and being slightly dizzy(I was fine after I ate again after the tests LOL). I do believe that I have the intelegence to make a difference. I know there is risk but to me it is no more than in civilian life. I know as a civilian that there are those serving as my protection to keep people from harming me. I am at a point now that I feel it is time to give something back. I am a father of two and I can think of no other way than this to ensure that the world they grow up in is safe for them to achieve thier hopes and dreams.

Call me crazy (pardon the pun) or an idiot if you wish. I do this for my kids and to help shape the world they will grow up in. I know I will be apart of a group. I do not regret it and I go in with my eyes wide open. I look forward to it. Thanks again.

As Crazyfrog said, everyone is entitled to see things in the light they do. Not to sound like I'm directing this at you Excelsior, but one has to admit, anyone willing to give their life for the safety and freedom of others is a noble, heroic deed. I know for a fact that enlisted men and women often fight to protect not just the people of the USA, but of all countries that value freedom. I too believe war is a sick, evil thing. I too wish there was no need for any form of a military.

But just remember, if there are people to be protected, the US military will be right there. That includes many people on this site, like CrazyFrog, Hellkite, and many more.

But don't feel bad, I'm not targeting you. I'm just pointing out the purpose of the US military men and women.

And yes, God-speed is a good term to use when wishing someone like CrazyFrog the best intent.

The difference with me here. I for one know first hand what is War. I can tell you that sick & evil are far to wholly inadequate words to even start to describe War.

But like many things in this world that I'd would wish to be purged and consigned to oblivion War is chief among them. But we live in world were it is a fact of our very being and our nature

The men who fight are not hero's we are not Hero's thous are found in Flag draped coffins Hero's are the men a women that have paid the Full measure So that you and I may have our freedoms Because there are those Who with out a moment's thought take freedoms from us all if they had there way If we were not there to hold that line in the sand this is a sad truth of our world that civilization is a very fragile thing that all we hold dear rest upon.

Your right HK. There are not adequate words in written or spoken languages to properly describe what war is.

The ones that seek it's creation are the worst mankind has to offer, and the ones that defend against it are the best that mankind has to offer.

The only thing good that comes from war is the hope people share for the end of it.

One very positive aspect of the service men and women is the hope they bring to victims of disasters. A prime example is when that first blackhawk appears, rescuing someone from the jaws of death in the raging rapids of a flood.

CrazyFrog, I just want you to know you have my respect and best wishes as you proceed to this next chapter in your life.

Wow, reading some of the Posts here I do have a Few comments but will keep some to myself. I was in both the Active and Reserve US Navy, and I find that those that Serve their country for no other reason than to Honor what their country stands for are the Heros. And yes Hellkite you are correct the Ones Giving the Final Dues and HAving the Flag Given to a Loved one are the Ulitmate Heroes.

Now to Crazy frog, Like said not to impune on you Intelagance but I do think that you are Crazy, and Stupid for wanting to be a Grunt in the Army, you know if you where active duty where you will go right. But hay Have fun and just think now you have to call Hellkite, Sir because he is an officer and you are Enlisted. I will tell you this I don't know how the army is but I did party with officer once a year maybe more depending on the Occasion and did call them by call signs and such (ah the air dale life)

But I do have something for you to Remember, better start now.
The 11 General Orders of a Sentry
1) To take charge of this post and all government property in view.
2) To walk my post in a military manner, keeping always on the alert and observing everything which takes place within sight or hearing.
3) To report all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce.
4) To repeat all calls from posts more distant from the guard house than my own.
5) To quit my post only when properly relieved.
6) To receive, obey, and pass on to the sentry who relieves me, all orders from the Commanding Officer, the Officer of the Day, and all officers and non-commissioned officers of the guard only.
7) To talk to no one except in the line of duty.
8) To give the alarm in case of fire or disorder.
9) To call the Corporal of the Guard in any case not covered by instructions.
10) To salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.
11) To be especially watchful at night and during the time for challenging, to challenge all persons on or near my post, and to allow no one to pass without proper authority.

As a side note someone mentioned the UN but Does anyone know when the US Joined the UN? and When the UN was founded?

Well I don't know anything about army stuff or whatnot but I dont think your stupid for wanting to do this. you made the decision with a morel reason and you are giving back to you country. I don't know what the actualdefenition of a hero is, but anyonw willing to put there life on the line for others feels like a hero to me. and as for those who go the full measure as HelKite said they are true hero's that shoul always be remembered.

well anywho um have fun and come back in one piece.

CF, I wish you all the luck and I can fully understand your reasons for joining up.

Since others found very fitting quotes, I have one, too:

"The noblest fate that a man can endure is to put his mortal body between his loved home and war's desolation."
- R.A. Heinlein

As for the UN: Don't you have that in a political sciences course in school at some time?

The United Nations Organization UNO was founded in 1948 by the victors of World War II, namely the United Stats of America, the Union of Socialist Soviet Republics, France, Great Britain.
The first decision of the United Nations was to divide Palestine into a Jewish Israel and a Muslim Palestine.

Before the UN was the UN it was the League of Nation, the United States of America (even Though her President Played a Key Role in it's Creation) was never a member, when the League was Re classed as the UN the US Senate was needed for it's entry into the UN. So the US did not become a member right away Like most of the Other Founding Members.

If anyone knows of links to either support this or even to Disprove this please let me know.

"I always win, 'cause I will fight both life and death to save a friend..."

A quote about the fallen comrades thing.

You take care Crazyfrog.
