Recently I have decided to do some pre-releases for Clash of Empires, the first was back well into last year when I released the Defiant class, which I just recently released a v1.1 updating it's material/texture settings/lighting.

Tonight I just release a Maquis pack, which includes the three Maquis map unit ships from COE. It is a complete mod on it's own thanks to the help from Jetfreak.

More are to come very soon, sooner than you'd think if everything goes as planned. If you like these releases please speak up and I'll see about getting more released at a later date.

Wow, those are quite impressive. I'm sure the more gifted screenshot makers will soon turn them into breath-taking pictures. Well done!

Sounds sweet, with the pace these releases are coming out I guess I'll have my work cut out for me as the official MSFC model photographer in the next couple of days.

Thank you all, released today is the COE Klingon Bird of Prey pack that includes 5 designs, with four variants each which equals a total of 20 ships.

I however forgot to make build buttons and wireframes till after I uploaded the file. So a v1.1 sometime down the road may happen. But with being so busy I really don't have the time for it and now that I think of it, it's better to get this out to all of you now, how it is rather than just leave it on my hard drive till god doesn't even knows when.

Click here to go and get the file.

Feedback is appreciated and sought. :)

Seamless work once again, the models are top notch quality. Apart from some minor flaws in the weapon hardpoints (some pulses fire from the torp launchers), its a fine release.

Those are... wow. I'm not a Klingon fan (not too fond of warrior races), but these designs are really cool. DLing right now!

Well one one is perfect, no doubt I put a pulse weapon here a torpedo should be in the odf file. My bad!

That's why I am finishing up and releasing this old stuff, for the MSFC Community to have new content for your game.

No use if it just sits on my hard drive. I am glad you all are enjoying them. :)

Glad to hear it! These Klingon ships add a new aspect to my fleet that just wasn't there before. I particularly like the one that looks to be part Fek'Lhr part BoP with four cannons. Fits in nicely between destroyer and light cruiser :) - probably the wrong thread for this, but do you have any SG stuff for a2 (i cant remember if SG was going to be in Parallels)?

Unfortunately we never go to the Stargate stuff, nothing past what was released in the mesh section of the site.

Yeah that's the Gintak, originally the bottom cannons were in fact K'Tinga style warp nacelles but I changed them to BOP cannons as they were more fitting.

Agreed, definately more fitting. As I like to play with ODF's and give a ship a specific function in the fleet. I've got it set up as a destroyer, but with a surprise punch lol. the outer cannons fire the quicker but less damaging destroyer pulses, the inner cannons have slower firing but more damaging battleship pulses. to compensate for this added punch, the shields are a little lower, and the ship costs more resources to build. gives Dans Cardies a nasty shock though lol!

:( on the SG stuff. Been looking for a good A2 Daedalus. I arent keen on the existing ones. not sure why *shrug* and sadly i have no idea how to texture on convert the mesh to SOD at the moment lol. one of those i mean to learn but havent had time

The odfs in my releases are really basic and rudimentary at best. I feel that people will mod them anyway to fit in their fleet and install anyway.

I might see next about releasing a few of the Cardassian models, a couple that I may not be using in the final mod.

TBH, i think thats the way to go. A rudimentary ODF is a good starting point, and gives people that are less modding accomplished (like me - i tinker with ODF's and a little with the AI but thats my limit) a way to add a personal touch. For example, I renamed the Havok the H'Voch class but then in the verboseTooltip said that it is often referred to by Starfleet officers as the Havok class.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people like the whole "complete mod" and appreciate the effort people go to to make them, including the ODF's but i definately prefer the more rudimentary odf's just for the incentive to customise them to personal taste

I agree. Just give me the weapons and systems hardpoints and I can do the rest. Anything else can be copied straight out of its nearest stock equivalent and balanced by the user.

Okay, I'll see about doing rudimentary odf files from now on. They are much quicker than doing a hardpoint map.

The Cardassian Ekoor class light cruiser is here. It's been uploaded in the A2 Cardassian download section.

Now before people start asking about the textures, why they are so yellow I thought I should explain that:

I did some research and found out that the Cardassian ships as seen in DS9 are in fact more yellow than orange, as seen in the images below:

GAdvance2.jpg GAdvance3.jpg Val_jean_with_galor.jpg

So I did darken the original textures quite a bit but tried to stay as true to the series as possible.

But anyway you're free to darken them or change them to what you like of course.

I hope you all enjoy this C&CC welcome. :)

Majestic,

You might want to do a quick patch to the defiant 1.1 release. I just d/l and the the model is superb..but you have the nose textures flipped.

just a heads up on that...

Fully agree with Maj on that statement. Even the official CG model used had a dominant yellow color.

Cardassian Galor Class Warship

Thanks for the link Jet, really helps to support my reasons behind the yellow textures.

Thanks, yeah I was a little fuzzled about the nose. I'll see about doing a v1.2 a little later.

Thank you, I might think about releasing the Galor, Keldon and Hideki next. Get some more ships out for you all.

While not rejects so to speak, I'd like to call them pre-releases. :)
