Crisis I can tell you that while it looks easier in the 2d drawings, it's a rather complicated model and I have had to compromise on many features of the model to get it into the 3D world.
You shouldn't be hard on yourself for not finishing the model at all, it's a hard one has taken longer that I have expected. I am hoping to finish this up today.

I fins the speed at which this one is being completed to be amazing considering the complexity of the shape.

Nothing wrong with that, is there? My preferred method of doing things for A2. If I stop to think about it, I'll probably talk myself out of sending it in. Nice to see your verah kewel designs take shape so effortlessly, HK. Yeah, I know. It really is a lot of work, but these guys surely make it look easy, don't they?

Not easy by any means, this design when I am done I would've built at least three times over. Due to as I progress I find there are things wrong with it and I see a better way of doing it, which also means less poly's as well.

But in the end it will be a better model and make it a lot easier to texture and complete for game use.

Neat design! This little fighter has potential; something to fight with them Federation Fighters. Shame the directors of DS9 didn't think to implement such a design on the show, would have made for some awesome fight-based combat.

Well apart from the snapping of some of the groups/faces I have completed the modelling process of the fighter.

Hellkite does it look okay to you?

Okay I see about texture coordinating the mesh and start a basic texture so to save time for Jetfreak. I'll base it off the COE textures as Jet did say he wanted the fighter to match.

That he did one big matching fleet :)

If it did not I'd hate to be to low ranking spoon head to have to go out and paint it to match panting and zero g not a good combination ;)

Yeah, I do hope one day to go back and completely re-do all my Cardassian models, making newer models (higher poly) and newer textures all unique and of much higher quality. But for now the COE ones are the best that I have done and I'll be sure that this fighter will match.

Oh and I have also just added in the classic glow parts in the wings on the fighter, as I have always assumed those are the warp grills on Cardassian ships since they don't use nacelles like Klingon, Dominion, Romulan and Federation designs.

I'll look at texture coordinating the mesh a little later this afternoon.

The front and back angles make it look like different model! That is actually pretty cool. I had to examine the pics closer to make sure it wasn't. Love visual tricks!

It's completed, I just can't upload as the download restricted section where all my mods go is insecure so until we can afford to upgrade I will no longer be releasing any works of mine. However if anyone on my list does want it please fell free to PM me (with your email) and when I get enough requests I will send out a email to everyone on that list.

Screenshots by our very own Jetfreak.

I am considering setting up a forum section for my downloads to do as a bend and temp solution but it will take a great deal of work to do and I am not sure if it's really worth all that time to do.

Looks sweet man. I don't have much of an opinion on the restricted files, but I suggest you do whatever you find necessary to protect your files.

 You could place them in a Zip file and put a password on the Zip file and one give the password out only to trusted members

Actually Hellkite that is a great idea, I had never thought of that. However I am curious to know if there is a program out there that can circumvent password rar/zip files and is readily available. Does anyone know if such a program exists?

yes

but it not that common of a tool

Advanced RAR Password Recovery can do it but it only work with archives containing only one encrypted file or it fails

Advanced RAR Password Recovery (or simply ARPR) can be used to recover lost or forgotten passwords for a RAR/WinRar archives. Unfortunately, there is no known method to extract the password from the compressed file; so the only available methods are brute-force and dictionary-based attacks.

Please take in mind, however, that RAR encryption is VERY strong, and even on very fast CPUs it is possible to test not more than 2000 passwords per second. So brute-force attack is effective for short passwords only (up to 5 or 6 characters), and if the password is longer and dictionary attack didn't help -- you're out of luck. Anyway, here is a brief list of ARPR's advantages:

The program has a convenient user interface
The program can work with archives containing only one encrypted file
All compression methods are supported (note: from RAR 2.0 to RAR 2.8 only)
Self-extracting archives are supported
The program is customizable: you can set the password length (or length range), the character set to be used to generate the passwords, and a lot of other options
You can select the custom character set for brute-force attack (non-English characters are supported)
Dictionary-based attack is available
The "brute-force with mask" attack is available
No special virtual memory requirements
You can interrupt the program at any time, and restart from the same point later
The program can work in the background, using the CPU only when it is in idle state

note on this it takes forever to work and that more character sets in the password the longer it can take

infact it can take day on just a 4 character sets that and it $45 for the program

So over all as long as you have 6-8 characters it should not be a Issue

Thanks Hellkite, well considering it's not a common or easy tool I am comfortable. I know that people like hacker or with the know how can get pass such things, but the average person can't and that's my aim.

I'll see about sorting out my files over the next couple of weeks. I'll probably start with my new files and work my way back. A lot of the files I'll probably not worry about as they are old an outdated and to be honest I am not overly concerned about those ones.

@Hellkite, would we be able to do our own take on this for the Star Trek: Continuum mod? Our Cardie modeller Dark_Sentinel has taken an interest in your design :)
