• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

Ok, a thread here to show off my work for Fallout 3.

Not a lot to show at the moment; most of what I've got is just coding-side modifications at the moment. But I'm learning to import models and the like, so here's a sample of one thing I'm working on: Revamping Mothership Zeta.

Background: Mothership Zeta is an addon to Fallout 3 that involves your character discovering a crashed alien fighter craft, and being abducted by the mothership in orbit. The player then teams up with other abductees to fight their way through the ship to the bridge and then to escape.

But anyway, I'm redoing it all to fit my own view of how it should be (even the internals are being redone; have already mapped out where everything will go). Here's the first view of the mothership.

[Note: I will be making a low-poly version for A2, together with the auxiliary craft... maybe a full "Alien" race?]

I like that ship. Haven't seen a "flying saucer" concept for quite some time.

I did not play any of the Fallout parts... but isn't it great to discover modding another game and to begin from scratch? I think it's exciting.

Ship looks good. Nice detail work, I like it.
Love Fallout 3. Between that and Oblivion, I lost many, many, many, months of my life:D

Beautiful work Atlantis, top stuff. As for A2, I'm sure many would love another new, original (for A2) race.

I look forward to seeing what she looks like textured.

I like!

Mothership Zeta was probably my favourite of the expansion packs. Okay, it was very, very short - but it was a chance to move away from the dity post-war world. Made a nice change.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I'm gonna' have to buy Fallout for the 'puter methinks. Xbox is all well and good but I can't mod it...

A 2ish y/a laptop with upgraded to about 2-4GB ram has no problem running it. Or so is my experience from my friends problems on his old laptop.

Cool - I have 4 gig RAM a, 512 meg graphics card and a 2.1 gig dual core processor - I am so buying this! (I just hope I get time to play it... 12 hours I was in the office yesterday... I finished at 21:30 - and I was back in at 07:00 this morning... I feel like dead people...

Also - it wasn't Fallout 3 I was thinking of as the resource hog - it was Crysis... This is the game that truly needs a super computer to run at good frame rate and detail...also S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC... (which I have and have modded a wee bit... ) that is a killer too...

But Fallout 3 - how is that to mod?

don't know for sure, but I know there are a ton of good mods out there, so it can't be that difficult.

Fallout 3 is fairly easy to mod, it comes with it's own toolset (the GECK, which is pretty much just a modded version of oblivion's tools). Getting navmeshes working right can be a pain in the a-, exterior worldspaces too. I've recently uninstalled my Fallout 3 in prep for a reinstall though, I'd gone that "step to far" in the modding and fallout 3 crashed before i even got to the main menu. Tried removing the most recent mods, and then removing all mods and it still crashed so no idea what I did.

But yeah, Fallout3 is very mod friendly, at least in my opinion, or it's at least as mod friendly as Armada 2 is anyway.
