Nice work! I Always found it odd that the Bird of prey didn't have nacelles.

Well, I thought they should have proper nacelles.
Anyway, I thought I'd spend a bit of time doing an action shot. Any thoughts?

In case anyone has been wondering why I've been a bit quiet of late (aside from Jetfreak), I've been busy working on this monstrosity.
(And no, I'm not working for STO)

It does look strange. What is the story behind it?

Love the ship, not a fan of odd number nacelle designs though, I like sticking the Gene's design rules. ;)

Awesome modelling work KJC. ;)

It is a practice "commission", the idea being I would see roughly how long it takes and work out what to charge based on it. However...
The good news is that the "customer" knew exactly what they wanted and provided sketches, modified plan views and detailed descriptions.
The bad news is that the customer knew exactly what they wanted, and what they wanted hasn't always worked.
So, based off the Ent-B type hull - check
Triple nacelle (and I hate them too) - check
Sleeker neck - check
Triple ring structure connecting nacelles - ehm...
Aft blisters, like the ones on the deflector but near the shuttlebay and wrapping round the lower hull - ehm...
Sleek - ehm...
He wanted the nacelles higher but I managed to convince him that it would just look waaaay too top heavy and anything but sleek, and he actually likes the lower outward canted nacelles. We've managed to compromise on a single ring structure three just completely obscures the secondary hull, but I have to make it a feature, which I'm still working on. He suggested something like the Andromeda, which is one of the ships that has defeated me in the past...
He's not a fan of my aft blisters... but what he wanted just isn't physically possible in 3D and I'm doing this for free, and I've mapped it now so I'm not changing it.
I've lost track of how long I've spent on it, so it's sort of defeated the point of the exercise

Of course once I finish he'll probably go back to Jetfreak and ask him to make it look pretty :lol2:
(we need a ROFLMAO)

On the bright side, it's really well done. Not a very pretty design, but well crafted.

The design is definitely unique-ish, given that it is based off a variant of an existing ship, the Lakota variant of the Excelsior.

I'm not a fan of triple or quadruple (Or God forbid, more) nacelles on just about any type of ship, even the Constellation doesn't work for me. I think maybe the only exception has been the Romulan Firehawk (Which has 4 nacelles) and I like it. But I've never found appealing the 3 nacelled ships either, first time I saw the "Federation" class in the ships of the fleet book my reaction was just UGH, a refit conny with a badly placed engine sticking out the back of the saucer, just no. That said, there have been ships with 3-4 nacelles which I do like.

The ring arcs in the back of the ship give me a very strong "Orville" vibe. The illustration is gorgeous but I don't know if the rings work for me. Then again I do like it more than the Orville itself, which to me looks like a yacht in the middle of space.

I can't say enough how gorgeous the render is though kjc, just wow, between you and Jetfreak we should have posters and illustrations or a calendar.

You know, the Orville had not even crossed my mind, but taking a look that is definitely where I was heading with it.
As for renders, Jetfreak is waaaaay beyond my level of ability. You only need to compare my KJprise images to his.

Warp power available, but it blew out all the light bulbs.

I agree with Hellkite on the Andromeda connection.

Sadly this is the USS Wyvern, some sort of temporal dreadnaught...
I don't think this up, I just build 'em
To me the Wyvern is that 24th Century Connie Jetfreak did.

Although I am wondering if a four nacelle with weapons rollbard may look any good as I've mostly built it anyway...

Hello:
I like where that Klingon Cruiser os going. Is it going to be post-nemesis? Or maybe something from the Lost Era?

Post Nemesis, it's going to be the Klingon equivalent to the Seeker. The slipstream genie is out of the bottle...

Hello:
Sorry for the delay, I was having lunch.

Ohh, so a very modern ship! But Klignons with slipstream? They may start giving the Kazon some visits :D .

That K'tinga looks familiar :lol2:

Interesting cruiser, clearly inspired by the classic.
K'torva
K'Vupa
K'tang

Just some names off the top of my head inspired from the K'tinga name. ;)

Good to know I have so many friends willing to shoot me if needed o_O. If the zombie hordes come I know where to go.
