• Hello and welcome to MSFC. We are a small and close knitted community who specialises in modding the game Star Trek Armada 2 and the Fleet Operations modification, however we have an open field for discussing a number of topics including movies, real life events and everything in-between.

    Being such a close community, we do have some restrictions, including all users required to be registered before being able to post as well as all members requiring to have participated in the community for sometime before being able to download our modding files to name the main ones. This is done for both the protection of our members and to encourage new members to get involved with the community. We also require all new registrations to first be authorised by an Administrator and to also have an active and confirmed email account.

    We have a policy of fairness and a non harassment environment, with the staff quick to act on the rare occasion of when this policy is breached. Feel free to register and join our community.

Good to see you making progress. While the lighting in the youtube video seems a bit wonky, it's nice to seem the game in action.

Hmm, what exactly do you mean? We can use any format, but the best fit is .max and .3ds.
If you're taking about modding, now we haven't worked no this subject. It's a very difficult issue in Unity 3D engine, but when the game is ready we would be able to try to solve it.

Looks very nice. The Planets are really good. Mh, and the new Starbase-Models are finished.

Great to hear from you! Hope you're fine and you project goes well. What planets are you talking about? Textures I sent you or on the screen? By the way, I created some more textures and will send you today.

Ladies and Gentlemen! Today, I'd like to congratulate my brother Arsen Bagdasarov (u.s.s.sovereign) with his birthday. He's 25 years old now. He has done so much for the project. The Defence Line would look completely different without his work. He is a texture artist in our team, however, he has created tech trees for game factions, ships abilities (they're still to be scripted) and more. Happy Birthday, Arsen Bagdasarov (u.s.s.sovereign)!

Ladies and gentlemen! Today we celebrate the "two-year-and-two-days" birthday of our project! Yes, I am two days late. However, we did a lot of work since the last year.

Here is the list of our achievements:
1) We created the new interface system (all the controls are now located on the MSD panel);
2) The UI moved to the other interface system. More complicated though has more functions;
3) In-game physics was changed;
4) The Ai is now recovered and upgraded (as it died our while I was working on physics);
5) A huge amount of starships and stations are added to our armada. Thanks to all the modellers who created a great stuff. A special thanks to TUB_Husker, who made a marvellous work for our project.

Hey, I watched the Video, I like it, but
a little thing that I don't like is the strength of specular. I think specular equal Zero for Asteroids are Ok, for Ships specular less than 20 is Ok. The use of Specular is good when you use specular maps, but without maps it isn't good.
Usually, your planets are fantastic.

Specular have only a color option. I cann't create specular maps.

Also, if you use a different rendering mode, or a different shader entirely, you might find an option that lets you select a specular map.

There seem to be many nice options for adding easy detail like heightmap and detail mask. Used in moderation, these really help in making things look stunning.

I can add specular map, but I haven't it. Models have been created by another people. Our team hasn't texture-makers. We can create only textures of planets. I know about alpha channel. Maybe in the future we will create specular map, heightmap and detail mask.

looks fine. To the Mesh, original is the mesh from Add Moerman's Nova Class.
I edited the mesh and add a bit more details and draw a new texture.

Saber, Akira, Prometheus follow. Luna, Intrepid must be textured. Excalibur is in work.
To the Excalibur, can I model the ships with a few Interpretations?

Borg elements are textures.
I think you can create your Excalibur model as you want.
