Well, that's entirely logical. /s

I reckon.

I love your work mate. Love to see more about the Romulans.

KJC did a couple of Romulan designs a while back that I still need to texture. Once I get a new PC I will be hitting them and the Klingons as well as finishing up the Feddy Starbase.

Sorry to hear about the course mate, but glad YY is still alive!

Thanks mate.

Progress at your own pace as long as it is at our pace.

Pretty much.

Sorry for your hard luck.

Thanks Aad.

Thanks Jetfreak. Yup More new ships and stations coming to a LCARS screen near you soon.

Yeah gotta look at the positives. Glass if never half empty just closer to your next drink. ;)

Oh yeah there's always options. Got some work lined up too from the sounds of it. Nothing permanent but every little bit helps. :)

Looks like I'll be getting back into this, way too long since I modeled or since modelling was fun for me. Found out my diploma was only good for 3 years (the certificate) and they cancelled it on me because I wasn't progressing fast enough in a progress at your own place course. Go figure. So the time spent there I'll be diverting back to my modelling and art something I've missed but haven't had the time to do for over 12 months.
Ouch, that sucks. :( Really sorry to hear that. Here's hoping you'll have fun with whatever you end up doing! God knows it's been a long time since modding was fun for me, too.

You've put so much hard work into it so far I'm rooting for ya. Your models/textures are pretty unique compared to what's out there in the community and will look great in action. I can't wait to play.

It's been a while. In the past week while we have been having 40-50 degree Celsius heat I have been getting back into working on Yesteryears models, with the air con on naturally.

Today I managed to finish off the last Federation model, the Starbase.

Starbase1.png

If I recall my documents and planning for this correctly, it's a single built station. Powerful and can withstand a fair amount of punishment. Has all the goodies including phasers and torpedo launchers, the latter which will be an upgrade item. Her bay can fit the Caldwell (Construction Rig) and Darwin (Mining Freighter) classes, I built the station around those models to make sure. Yup all scaled correctly too.

It's a original design by me, using the Regula model (from Star Trek 2) in DS9 always bugged me so this is my take on what I envisioned the Starbase 375 would be like. Smaller than the Spacedock design but still larger than Regula.

I included a bit of a quick ortho with the regula station and sensor station for comparison.

Feedback welcome. :)

And the Boss. Is. Back!
Yeah, 375 was another of those size inconsistencies where it grew or shrank depending on the episode. Liking your take on it.

Very nice! I would make the grey texture parts 10 till 15 percent brighter.

Yup, I had this in mind when designing the station. I drew inspiration from a number of sources and in the end this was the result.

It's the same as all my other models so they all match. I'll probably to a contrast adjustment on the final run to make details strand out a little better.

Nice stations Maj and i see those, so called Starbases, more as outpoststations than real Starbases.

Thanks mate and I have always thought the same. I have always felt that the Spacedock style stations are more the starbases.

Great work Maj, gotta love the classic Starbase style! The tanks and such always provide a bit of an industrial touch, which neatly contrasts with the smooth, clean design aesthetic that you usually see with StarFleet ships and stations. The kitteh approves!

I tried to keep a particular style going with my stations for each of the factions. I felt the tanks were an important part of the TMP era Feddy bases, (Regula, Orbital Office).

A Kitteh stamp of approval is always high praise indeed. Lets see how the Klingons go. :)

We have a new ship for the fleet.

Getting back into the Klingons I have completed their early cruiser, known as the G2 class.

G2.png

It's a hybrid of the cruiser and destroyer line and one of the newest designs in the Imperial fleet. Design and model by WickedZombie I did some mesh modifications (mainly the cannons) and remapped the model and of course re did the textures.

Ortho next to the other complete Klingon ships.

I agree, it's a nice design that crosses the gap between D7 and BoP.
That said, the angles you've picked in that quad image really doesn't do it justice, it looks far better in the comparison pic.

Latest or should I say oldest ship in the Klingon fleet. The D3 class was officially decommissioned by the Defense Force in the early 23rd century however instead of being scrapped they were converted in freighters and haulers.

D3.png

This model is actually from Star Trek Legacy heavily modified as the proportions were imo all out of wack. I reduced the wing span and length of the neck. Then I added pods and frame work. Totally remapped the model and clearly new textures to match the other Klingon units.

I reflected her age in the texturing she has a lot more vents indicating much older and less efficient technology.

As per usual here are some orthos of the design.

I like it. I don't recall if you mentioned this, but are you going to go the FO route with this one and make it a freighter that converts into a warship if needed?
